I was on location on wednesday, and although Cowleen and Typeorocks stole the show by actually meeting some of the cast, I was able to accrue some information. One of the PA's told me that night they were filming diologue during Batman and Joker's final confrontation.
Wow! Thanks for the scoop.

Also, when one of the extras walked past, i asked him who he would be playing and when he replied, "Batman" in shock I asked him what he would be doing and he merely stated, "kicking some ass."
WTF?

Hi, Im new here...uh, I was there tonight...not too much exciting when I left (around 1 30)..when I got there at around 11-ish, they filmed a scene with a GPD SWAT truck hooked to a trailer, with Chris Nolan sitting on the back of the truck dragging it, along with Wally Pfister, etc.. The truck would drive all the way down LaSalle...and at one point, the lights they had rigged in front of it would flash really bright and the truck would swerve back and forth..most likely simulating an explosion, or gunfire.

Anyways, the truck would eventually stop at the famous corner where the PA's block everyone off, and Gary Oldman would get out, wearing SWAT gear (ooo Gordon!), and carry a shotgun with him, take a few steps...and then cut.

They then left for about an hour after that, to reset. In that time, a black Ford Explorer drove right by where we were all standing, and Christian Bale was sitting in it, wearing a hat and sunglasses and giggling at something. He completely ignored us...and word has it he is not a huge fan of us gawkers, so the ignoring was probably very intentional. Anyways, we finally saw the PA's clearing for the truck to come back...and eventually it did...repeating the same scene except this time the camera was in the driver side window on Gary Oldman, and they would stop, the SWAT guy in the passenger seat would argue with Gary Oldman, and then Gary Oldman would make like he was going to get out, by grabbing the shotgun....and that was it. They did that like 8 times (seriously, Nolan must be a perfectionist, or something must have been screwing up). At that point it was around 1 30 and even the diehards had cleared out, so I left.

Sorry if this isn't much by way of an exciting report...I've had much better experiences, including a very close up view of Ledger in full make up, which made the nerd inside of me sweat. Im sure thats already been talked about as he walked by several people and everyone flipped out. Goes to show sometimes sticking around pays off... Anyways, sorry for the non excitement but I figured I'd let anybody who didnt go know they werent missing much. Im sure after I left a million awesome things happened but eh thats the way it goes. Word has it at some point Batpod stuff is going down, but its just way too late (or early, depending on your view).

Oh, I forgot to mention that some guy who had been watching since 6 PM said they had been filming a Joker scene in the alleyway along LaSalle...which makes sense because when I got there we saw Ledger way off in the distance wandering around in the street, looking zany. So, there's that. Again, sorry for the really boring scoop. And another weird thing was...I dont know if anybody noticed this, so if you did please verify...but the alleyway looked to be lit with a green light at one point. Could have been the lights warming, or could have been something bizarre? Who knows?

I don't know..it was probably nothing, because what I've noticed is those lights when they first turn on tend to have a green-ish cast to them...but then again...this was very, very green. Could possibly be a green screen reflecting light? Maybe? Eh? I'm not too privy to the screenplay and plot, etc...does the Joker gas people? I know he plants bombs, but it seems the gas would be too similar to BB.

It might be too similar, but we do know that the Joker and the Scarecrow have teamed up.

Never know.

Ah, good point. That would be an interesting pairing. I would love to see a fear toxin version of the Joker.

thanks for the report man

It was tight... but through the miracle of cell phone technology, here's a peek of what went down on LaSalle Street...

Chicago Bat

Yay, Batman! Impressively close, very nicely done. You must have a cloaking device or something. Do you have a good idea for how the scene plays? Batman chases truck, truck flips, Gordon arrives on the scene. No idea what happens then, Joker crawls out and starts killing people perhaps. Don't know what they needed the GCN news truck for, or Eckhart, maybe a scene after Bats and Joker are long gone

Woah, so the bike frame can go lower than the wheels. Pod under semi stunt dream still attainable

I dont understand why Christian Bale is being a jerk to us, I waited for 3 hours outside hotel 71 and got right next to him when he walked out and said " excuse me, mr bale" and he brushed me off.

Now Gary Oldman is being awsome, I yelled officer Gordan after he didnt respond to mr oldman and he looked and waved at me.

He's in the zone.
Oldman is a legend.

Was it before or after filming? These guys are undoubtedly pretty tired after filming...Plus they are far into filming at this point and longing for their privacy.....Its all starting to wear on them most likely...
