Anything being flat-looking on film, is never good. In terms of cinematography, objects still need to reflect light, to create an image of sorts. Otherwise...you don't really see anything. Especially with Batman who's under very low lighting sources.that was the best about its design. the color was flat and non reflective that cape is most definately reflecting light which makes absolutely not sense.
Now I'm not asking that entire suit to be like a mirror, and being completely visible at any lighting. Just enough so everything blends well within the environment. It's hard to explain in words, but look at the several pictures of Batman in the comics, and you'll get an idea of what I mean hopefully.
