Well, the neither the BB announcement nor the TDK announcement trailer had footage from the respective films. BB's had footage that was specifically intended for the trailer, and TDK just had an exploding logo with one line of dialogue and laughter.

TDK was the only one that really could go without footage, the Joker is iconic enough that he does not need footage, and his calling card and his laugh was enough to garner attention. BB and Inception's teaser trailers that came out almost a year before the film had footage, and I assume TDKR will as well. Not lots, but some. This time a symbol one won't work to get across what the film will be about.

I think they'll have enough for a footage. It'll just be random quick money shots of the cast (Bruce/Batman, Bane, Gordon, Selina/Catwoman, etc.) along with either some cool dialogue/monologue or some Zimmer music.

The footage in both the BB and Inception trailers was brief, but very effective. I'm expecting something similar for TDKR.

with Bane's mask, i am wondering if his voice will be more of a metallic sound. Having a voiceover with some strange sounding metallic voice which is speaking about how he is going to kill, pillage, etc... and then show the bat symbol burning - i think that would be cool. its just a teaser, not a trailer. Trailers will have the footage, the teaser is supposed to just get everyone talking - and hearing a creepy voice without knowing who or what is the subject of his speech until we see the bat sign would be sweet.

maybe a little too close to TDK joker teaser, but i still think it would be cool.

If I was a betting man I'd wager on Bane being the centrepiece of the teaser trailer. I can see a simple teaser that carries on from the image of Bane that was released, with his back to the camera while he describes what he's going to do to The Dark Knight. Teaser ends with Bane lashing out at the camera, the screen turns to black and the symbol appears.

Yeah guys I think they'll show footage but very little. And I have a feeling since its nolans last batman its going to be really epic, so he wont hold back on anything

I think the teaser will be focused and Bane and, like the Begins trailer, it won't be immediately obvious what film it is for until the end.
