The Dark Knight The Dark Knight's Rogues Gallery

Yes, exactly what I'm talking about.
And while I always declare my love for the Prequels, when I heard the OT commentary, the problems they had with the low budget of Ep4 and even Ep5, I couldn't help but admire that. In the Prequels, everything was going smoothly for them. EVERYTHING. Low budget always forces your creativity.

yes indeed. and that's where the real innovators are. robert rodriguez. one could easily argue that tarantino makes better movies than rodriguez. but i would be content making fun, cool movies like rodriguez. i watch the things on his dvds. he has the perfect life now. he has a greenscreen studio down the street from his house. his attic has protools and final cut pro on several computers where he can edit and write his own scores. but then the big sound mixing board and editting stuff is in his garage, where he has a team working for him. he can shoot a whole movie at his house and edit it. he does it all.

rodriguez is like the new john carpenter. the digital john carpenter. those are guys i admire a little more than i admire people like stanley kubrick (who i feel is the best director of all time), only because carpenter and rodriguez are doing what they want, having fun, and making a living. what more could you ask for?

Preach it. I like QT's movies a bit more, but I admire RR much more that QT.
And I don't like Carpenter's films (save Mouth of Madness- brilliant film... no so much more: the perfect marriage of King and Lovecraft and a Sam Neill who just paints with his performance), however he, too, did wonders with what he had.

never saw mouth of madness. i'm impartial to They Live, personally. i like the "cheese factor." i just find it to be a fun movie. but, as always about this time, i have to get going. good talkin to ya. if you want to create that thread about your movie, or PM or something i'll check that out tomorrow.

see, i wanna make a movie soon, see. and i don't have a plot, but sh-t, ain't that the easiest part? =D so basically since it's my first short i've ever made for the internets, i want it to be a typical movie that kids like me make, some sort of crime, or gore fest. the basic premise i'm kickin around the old noggin right now is about a group of friends who find some money. (they kill a guy who robbed a bank, or they find a bag left at a bus station, i don't know, there's a million ways to do it.) and then they end up killing each other over it. pretty simple premise, that kind of thing has been done a million times. but it would be fun to do. so don't expect anything TOO original out of it. but it should be a fun, funny, bloody mess of a flick. sound cool?

Yeah, with these kind of ideas it's how fun and cool you make it. I'd see that.

yeah. i want to use a lot of locations and effects. basically do as much as possible with the limitations. and mainly, try to have decent enough dialogue that it's worth watching. i'm trying to hammer out an outline for the plot right now. i just came up with the idea like a half hour ago, and i might change my mind and just make a slasher movie. i don't know. i just want to do a movie that is easy and fun.

One at a time. See what you can do with the particular idea and if it doesn't get you anywhere, go for the slashin'.

yeah. good advice. i'll toy around with it for a little bit.

Abut the Splattermovie 3 trailer, I still haven't gotten round to put subtitles, as I'm sitting an examo tomorrow, hopefully after te exam I'll get around to it. As for the draft, I'll have to translate it in english and then copyright just in case. So this might take a while.

its not the best in all comics.spider-mans is much better.best in dc though.

Yes, truth is I'm having a hard time choosing between Batman's ans Spidey's.

I'm familiar with PJ's older films, which I also consider miles better than the LotR Trilogy of his.

Really?

They're definitely good for what they are, and they're certainly more inventive with some of the VFX...but really?

Seconded. I would probably go with Spidey, though, for a variety of reasons. I relate to him more (who doesn't?) and really I'm more of a Marvel fan at heart. Plus, he's got a wicked costume and powers.

But Batman is just AWESOME, plain and simple. :ninja:

Decisions, decisions...

Yes, I'm of the opinion that any half-decent director with that ridiculous amount of money and that quality of a source material could have done what PJ did.

Honestly I do not relate to Peter Parker.

Truth be told, I'd much rather watch Dead Alive and/or Bad Taste over any film in the LotR trilogy. Then again, I could give a crap less about that series. Sorry, kids.

Heavenly Creatures & Bad Taste>>>>Lord of the Rings(films)

My sentiments exactly.

just in case people didn't notice, i've turned this into a discussion thread =D so anytime you wanna talk about stuff, just bring up subjects in here. it is an alternative to the batusi lounge. but the batusi guys are more than welcome to hang out in here =D i just wanted to have my own discussion thread, and i knew creating one would result in a lock, so i figured, this is my thread and no one ever talks about the rogues gallery, so why not just discuss anything that comes to mind.

bad taste rocks. i especially like when derek falls off the cliff, that dummy looks so great. it seems real to me so it's more hilarious when he hits the rocks. i love it =D

very cool thread. Honestly I want to see every villain being connected to eachother. I don't want to see some cornie spiderman 3 crap where all the bad guys just decided to join up in half way through the movie to go beat up spiderman. I want Nolan to explore the psychology of harvey dent in flash back scenes, I want joker to be the central bad ass, and I want the mob and the joker to have some unfinished business with eachother. harvey dent of course gets in the middle of the action because he starts out good. So, it's a mob war with joker playing solo bad ass rebel psycho, harvey dent wanting to do good but ends up getting blasted with the joker doing it, that will leave a joker vs two-face confrontation in part 3, and batman in the middle trying to make sense of it. Each villain should play an important and effective scene. I always wanted it to go down like this, the mob hires joker, joker turns agaisn't the mob, harvey dent tries to stop both and ends up becoming two-face, batman is in the middle of the war and the battle rages on.
