Kinda of annoyed that they're billing this line up as The Defenders when Marvel Knights would have suited much better, but looking forward to a new Daredevil.

Marvel knights is a terrible team name imo

This. There is a reason they salvaged a team name they were probably never otherwise going to use anyway.

( given that of the iconic Defenders, two of them are unusable, and one of them is already an Avenger? Was never going to happen )

Exactly ^
Marvel knights was more of a label name anyway

I think people are going to get over this Defenders name business pretty soon. Its a pretty cool name.

If there is a phase 2 of these tv shows ...
i think eventually they should aim for a Blade, Ghost Rider, Daredevil and Punisher teamup series

I think daredevil and punisher could team up In a 2 or 3 episode story arc. Idk about an entire series. Although I definitely agree on the blade and GR series. A punisher series would be great too. Or a moon night series. I'd love for a Dr. Strange sequel to be a midnight sons movie comprised of Dr. Strange, Ghost Rider, Blade, and Moon knight.

I hope that the FX are on point for the Defenders mini-series. I know it won't be feature film level, but it should still be engaging. They should avoid any stunt-disaster sequences that would require a "corny" FX sequence.

I assume they'll know their limitations by this point in time. That means they might avoid CGI-heavy scenes for some episodes, but I don't think they'll cheap on the scenes they do choose to do.

I'm assuming there won't be a gigantic plane taking up most of the CGI budget in this like with AoS, I hope the budget goes more into sets and fight choreography. Also given the fact that its only an 8 episode miniseries event I'm sure there will be plenty of budget to go around.

Beyond just that, if you think about how in this universe the only known Superhero team is "The Avengers" then having your street level team up go by the name "Defenders" makes a wonderful sort of sense. Because in a certain way the big difference between them and the "Superheroes" is that they tend to be more on the defensive; they are more based in their local communities and take up a watch dog or protector role rather than a "go over seas/cross dimensions to actively fight/stop war".

This. Actually, anything with Ghost Rider and/or Moon Knight would be awesome to me!

Ghost Rider would be cool but they probably want to test the waters first with these shows before, he is very vfx heavy and to even have him cameo would cost a lot. I think if Iron Fist is a huge success they'll consider Ghost Rider, maybe even giving him his own season.

Just one scene of Ghost Rider burning a Nick Cage poster would suffice :woot:

One of the things I love about this deal is that we get 13 hours of each character, which is basically 6.5 movies.

I hope the show has an engaging website where fans can interact and learn more about the characters.
The villains should be formidable, enough for a group fight scene.

Marvel Knights would have been a horrible name. The Defenders is just fine.

Exactly. And it keeps The Defenders from being Redundant. In the MCU, each team has a scale they function on.

Defenders- Street
Avengers- Global
Guardians of the Galaxy- Galactic

In the comics, The Defenders just fight different villains than the Avengers. They don't have a truly different function, other than their "Non-Team" gimmick, which comes across as repetitive after all the in-fighting in A1.
