Age of Ultron The Design & Origin of ULTRON

Stark can have a hand in creating him like in A:EMH... the Jarvis program can be a base.

oh and in Ultrons mouth, there MUST BE KIRBY KRACKLE...I will not accept it any other way!!!!
Wouldn't it be cool if one of the MANY company's out there made a Lava Lamp inside an Ultron head? :D

Wright's script has gone through a rewrite to fit in with Marvel's current cinematic universe as it was written before the MCU existed.

Edgar Wright said he sat down with Joss Whedon a couple weeks ago to look over the Ant-Man script and see if it fits with Joss plans.

I always got the vibe that Ant-Man was always more Lang centric than Pym seeing as how To Steal An Ant-Man is Edgar's favourite comic and the one that made him fall in love with the character.

as long as we get to see Ultron 42, I'm happy

Pym works at ST with Tony. Together they built Ultron for whatever reason.
Pym does the AI and Stark the robotic body. Then the AI goes crazy
which leads to a escape. This would happen early in the movie.

During the movie Ultron makes him: harder, better, faster stronger.
You get the idea (Perhaps we will see some vibranium theft)

They fight him in the end but he is indestrucible thx to the vib/ada.
The only one who can beat his robotic hide is antman who has to travel inside the body and kill him from within.
Then everyone think antman is cool and go watch the Antman movie.

The end.

I like the basic idea, but what conflict would they have early in the movie? Certainly it would take time for the software to develop into the villain Ultron. And on a smaller note, vibranium is scarce and I don't know if they can use adamantium, as I think it belongs to Fox.

Overall though, the idea seems cool. Then have Pym go to "stage 2" of his research... Giant Man.

That really does drop my enthusiasm by quite a bit. Ultron is a key part in Hank's entire arc as a character, why take that away from him? Hope Joss has something good up his sleeve

Looking back at IM3 they already set up a route to introduce Ultron. Tony basically did it when he created armors that could be controlled by Jarvis and the AI ****ed up. He might take it to the next level in A2 and have Jarvis controlling armors and such to help out...and the AI ****s up just like in IM3.

Where is this?
Joss Whedon at Comic Con
"Well, because there was a book called 'Age of Ultron' quite recently, a lot of people have assumed that is what we're doing, but that is not the case. We're doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. In the origin story, there was Hank Pym, so a lot of people assumed that he will be in the mix. He's not. We're basically taking the things from the comics for the movies that we need and can use. A lot of stuff has to fall by the wayside."

"We're crafting our own version of it where his origin comes more directly from The Avengers we already know about. It's a little bit darker than the other film because Ultron is in the house. There's a science fiction theme that wasn't there in the other one. Ultron is definitely something that evolves, so we're going to get together a couple of different iterations. Nothing can be translated exactly as it was from the comics; particularly Ultron."

this means ultron will be jarvis dark side
but how hank will connect to it or will he don't

That´s to bad. Does it mean he wont be A:AOU or just that he isn´t the creator?
I mean he could still be the man to save the day if he is presented
as a great scientist in some way. He could help the avengers beat Ultron as Antman
eventhough he wasn´t the direct reason for Ultron going killingmachine.

I'm okay with it not being pym. As long as the story is good and the changes work, I'm okay with them

Whedon is usually spot on about things, but not including Pym...that's a tad sucky...but the part where he said that nothing can translate exactly from the comics, especially Ultron, scares me that we won't get the Ultron robot that we all know and love with the Kirby crackle, etc...that is the sight I've been waiting for....

I want this Ultron:

I see a lot of people getting upset because Whedon is "taking away a key part of Pym's character".

The thing is though, it's not Whedon's job to worry about what's best for Pym. it's Whedon's job to worry about what's best for the franchise as a whole. Given that we have an established connection to Tony Stark, given what's been established about his technological abilities (particularly in Iron Man 3), having Tony be the creator of Ultron just makes narrative economical sense.

It might appease fanboys, but introducing Pym suddenly into this movie just so he can create Ultron, and expecting audiences to a.) suddenly care just as much about him as they care about established characters, and b.) buy that, oh yeah, there's this other dude whose been in the MCU this whole time, and he's just as good as Tony, if not better, at making revolutionary robots and AI, is a massive stretch.

The MCU is it's own thing. It needs to go in it's own direction based on what's best for itself. Ant-Man is still a movie that they're making, and they're still giving to give him stuff to do. They're not just standing around with their d**ks in their hands being like, "Welp, he didn't create Ultron. I guess we'll just make him generic and give him no character motivations."

If anyone is worried about Ant-Man, remember, it's written and directed by Edgar Wright, who is probably the best goddamn cinematic storyteller in the MCU, Whedon included. He will make a good Ant-Man movie.

There will be a connection to the antman movie for sure

Yes this is true. Some ppl mentioned in other threads that they didn´t want the hate to fall on Tony.
I don´t think that is going to happen just because Pym isn´t there to blame. Other Avengers/shield dudes/council members/badguys will also be responsible somehow.

There will be a connection to the antman movie for sure

I am not convinced. I mean if they aren´t going to use Pym as the creator or even let him be a big part of making Ultron, why even have him in the movie at all?

And for some reason I can´t give you the link to the cbm article. Just go to cbm and you will see it.
It´s pretty clear that Pym isn´t going to be in the movie :/

This just reinforced Scott Lang being the protag of the Ant-Man movie and Pym being old. Wonder where that leaves Janet though.
