Age of Ultron The Design & Origin of ULTRON

there are so many great voice actors out there. they really dont need to get a prominent actor for this. especially since theyre gonna distort the voice in post.

I agree but attaching a "name" to voice the main villain adds cache to your cast list. I understand the reasons why they usually go this route.

They can get an unknown for all I care. I'm just hoping Ultron's look is close to the classic look in the comics. I don't want them straying too far from that appearance.

I don´t think they will do that. What would be the point? They can´t name it Age of Ultron if Ultron is not going to be comics-Ultron in some way.
Some of the classical features will be there, not all maybe, but most.

I don't think they will do that either. Marvel has stayed pretty close to the comic book appearances in most cases (even if some are the Ultimate versions). I just hope that's the case with Ultron.

Lol this movie doesnt need "cache" by throwing in a celebrity name for a distorted robotic voice. It wont add one dime to Marvel's bottom line. They're already stacked with big names, and the list will probably grow when they cast SW and/or QS.

Having a name for Ultron though gives the impression that there is someone behind it, otherwise it seems that the Avengers are just facing a faceless CGI villain. If they were up against someone like Benedict Cumberbatch, then the mere thought of that (because people already know his work in STID) would suggest a really formidable villain even before the audience have seen any footage of Ultron.

It's exactly why, in the opposite scenario, when you have a weak or lightweight actor in the role of a villain, it doesn't really seem like a match for the hero.

JARVIS creates his own Iron Man suit to fill in for Stark in retirement.
He becomes corrupted/enlighted about the way to handle the world's problems and becomes ULTRON. After being defeated, he inhabits the Destroyer armor kept on the Helicarrier and defeats the earth based Avengers. The activation of the Destroyer armor alerts Thor, who leaves Asgard to join the fray and save his teammates.

If Ultron is indeed a corrupted JARVIS, I would love to have Paul Bettany 'reprising' the role. Otherwise get Cumberbatch.

I prefer not to have Paul Bettany in the role. I prefer to have JARVIS still around so that there is a face off between one AI and another.

- The AI taking over theme that we saw in Terminator and Matrix makes some sense;

Jarvis controlling all those armors remotely must be tired of a human being (Stark) giving him orders lol

Plus Tony activating the clean slate, the machines will try to survive by killing humans

OMG Tony will die in Avengers 2

- Or could it be AIM ? they did take control of Cheadle's armor IIRC. Maybe it was a beta version of Ultron
Jarvis vs Ultron in the ring NOW !!!!

- Most unlikely theory : Dum-E ... I mean , the way Tony has treated him so far ... I know I would be pissed

- Ultron is a creation of the Council or the Government to protect people from the Avengers .... maybe Howard Stark made it

I don't see why they don't go with Tom Kane, he's knocked it out of the park every other time he's done it. Oh and I think this picture below would be a kick ass design for Ultron in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (minus the cape).

I just had a thought, Mark Hamill voicing Ultron using his Ozai voice would be awesome.

Just had the Worst/Best Idea ever. Ultron never dies, of course he has backups of backups and is constantly upgrading himself. So when A3 rolls around, I'd love it if Thanos comes by to destroy all life on Earth and Ultron is just like "Get in line, *****!". :lmao:  Thanos would have to win, but at the end the Avengers might wonder if they are now allies with Ultron .... ?

Haha wild and crazy! That will never happen, or atleast that´s my opinion. I do admit an encounter of the two would be awesome, even if it doesn´t make much sense :D

Jarvis pretty much had a big role at the climax of IM3.... (It was the one who took out pretty much most of the soliders).
:wow:

This can't be just a coincidence -- Jarvis had a pivotal role in the climax of the first Phase 2 movie, and Ultron is the villain in the Phase 2 climax. Obviously there is some relation here.

I think Ultron being the product of a corrupted Jarvis is possible and could be a pretty cool way to go, I definitely think he'll be connected to Tony.

As for the design, something close to this.

Love the phalynx Ultron....I just want the goddamn butterfly mouth

As long as he has that ant head design, I should be happy.

Mark Hamill, John Noble, or Michael Sheen could be good choices to voice Ultron.
