He looks perfect here. Wouldn't mind him staying like this. Its just enough change to still resemble the comic look, but be its own thing. Love it.

Y'know... I know everyone called this and I had all these discussions about how we were told from the get go that Stark made Ultron. But... I didn't think it would be exactly Ultron-as-a-drone-defense-force, and going bad in precisely the same way as it inevitably must for anyone that creates a super powerful robotic solution in any movie.

I thought they'd tweak it a bit.

I think the one that was on set could be the final "upgraded look" as he looks bulkier/bigger than the one on EW cover.

That's perhaps an earlier/later iteration of Ultron. I think it's safe to say he'll constantly be upgrading throughout the film.

Maybe when Stark designs him he'll give him a slightly human face, for PR purposes etc.

Then as the film goes on and Ultron becomes more and more disgusted with humanity he changes his appearance.

I think you may be onto something good sir. His first design might even be the Spader mocap.

I just hope his final version ditches some of the IM remnants. I think the artwork on that EW cover is cool, but it's still too reminiscent of regular IM suits.

I really wonder why Whedon didn't put Ant Man in this and as a creator of Ultron? I mean, I'd like that not all the things are made by Tony Stark. And Ultron is from AntMan as Loki is from Thor IMO. I'm not sure about this origin. I'll wait and see how it looks.
I'm one of the people who felt that taking out the "light heart" from Tony they took out part of his character. he lacks that great thing that made him special as Hulk with his anger. Maybe they are gonna introduce the sci-fi from Iron Man that the armor is as his skin.... if not I'm kind of skeptical about these changes. But I won't jump into conclusions until I see the movie.

BTW the ultron design is not bad. I kinda like it. looks good.

The red glow: Thats from a thermo nuclear generator inside? Itll be cool to see where the design comes from etc

I wonder if he'll ever get the classic Jack O Lantern face in the movie. I really dig this one though

If the Avengers are on board with the idea as some theorize, then possibly Thor lended him some Asgardian technology. Or he got it from (what remains of) SHIELD, just like Coulson's weapon from A1.

I absolutely freaked out with glee when I saw this EW cover. I don't know why it came as such a surprise, I guess I forgot SDCC was right around the corner and of course Age of Ultron would be a star attraction at Hall H this year, but man... when this image popped up on my feed I was like "WHAT!? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" So good. Just when I thought my excitement for Guardians of the Galaxy was at fever pitch, then Marvel hits me with "....and then you have THIS to look forward to next year!"

I don't recall them mentioning the exact amount of times he changes ...... but it's certainly fact he will upgrade various times.
