Age of Ultron The Design & Origin of ULTRON

^^ I'm pretty sure it'll just be Stark dude - even if there's a throwaway line about it being a project he picked up or something. But really, it sounds like Tonys design - and just his, with a little input from the rest of the team of course.

If they want to do Ultron now, having Tony be the one who creates him makes perfect sense because the mass audience already knows him. They know RDJ's version of him. The impact is greater. That's ultimately more important than 100% comic book accuracy which only appeals to people who read the comics.

Ant-Man has gotten moved closer to Age of Ultron.

Scarlet Witch looks into the past, and parallel worlds. There was set pictures that seemed like they took place in the 40s. There's an agent carter show coming out.

Stark can still be the responsible father of Ultron, but him making the AI from scratch seems like lazy ass story telling and I'm still willing to bet there's more to it.

I am willing to bet maybe Ant-man goes on Simultaneously, or in ant-man we see a lot of where the technology came from, and perhaps starks father helped start the early work for Ultron. Stark finds the work of his father, and his colleague, tweaks it, and pushes it forward.

A way to make..*everyone* happy. He'll have a role in the grand scheme of things I bet.

That won't make me happy. I came to see not just Tony, but Cap, Thor, Hulk, Hawk, Widow, War Machine, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Fury, Maria Hill, Peggy Carter, Baron von Strucker, Thanos, even Claudia Kim's character and Andy Serkis' character. If there's even two minutes to spare, spend that time on them instead of bringing in Pym and Papa Stark to needlessly complicate the plot and take up screen time. There's nothing lazy about Stark inventing stuff, just like it wasn't lazy to have Papa Stark and Pym involved in creating the villain for every other film, it's also not lazy to leave them out of the bad guy equation here.

In the words of Ivan Vanko:

"Hey min, dont get so attached to tings, learn to let go"

I vant MY BOIRT! Sure, is this a bird back in Russia? *overlytanned hands*

I'm looking forward to seeing Ultron on the big screen. I have a feeling he's going to be a great villain.

Depends on the execution, of course, but on the face of it, that sounds absolutely terrible to me. I think it's finally time for the whole "Pym creates Ultron" line of thought to be completely discarded.

To be fair, they could include a line or two about Tony knowing Pym and using some of his old research (since Pym is like 70 in the MCU apparently) in Ultron's creation. He could even bring up Howard Stark's robotics research in the 1940's. The original Human Torch did have a cameo in TFA after all.

I think if anything PYM related does happen in AOU itll be an end credits/mid credits appearance by Lang or Pym. But anythings possible. They love to surprise us.

just reposting my old ultron head sculpt i made in blender3d.

I'm talking about in Ant-man, not in this movie

Oh, I thought you were talking about having AoU explain that Ultron was based on something prevoius by Papa Stark and Pym. It'd be interesting to just have Ant-Man sort of retcon it in. Not sure how I feel about that.

Dat's right. Drone better. People make problem....drone better.

Lol, but OMG. :wow: My respect for the MCU just went up a notch. That's an incredible bit of foreshadowing.

Maybe it's revealed that Pym is the one who perfected/created the consciousness/computer transfer for Arnim Zola. Which Tony then uses for Ultron, transfering his brain patterns?

Would be a cool way to have Pym involved in the creation indirectly at least.

Won't happen

Won't happen

Why not? It is a possibility and would make sense. Pym is 70 years old in the current timeline. He worked with SHIELD and Howard Stark. Someone must have created the technology that allowed Zola to transfer his consciousness into computer form. And we know Tony transfers his brain patterns into the main Ultron.

If there is any plausible way to tie Pym into Ultron somehow, it'd be going that route.

To be honest here, Id LOVE to see all the Pym stuff tied into ULTRON if that was gonna be the plan from wayyy back. But I dont think thats what Joss or Edgar were ever gonna do. I love this universe, I want it to be as geeky as possible.

I think Pym will have a history in the MCU in some way but it wont be tied to ULTRON. Maybe he knew/worked with Howard Stark back in the day. Something like that would be cool.
