Here will be my first test on whether I can give THOR the ol' heave-ho like I did with INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (finally). While this isn't the biggest week ever, it is a week in which I have 5 other books and they are all at least $3.50 or more. Having one less $3.99 comic to add to that would make the wallet smile. I have no faith in the run and the title is getting rebooted anyway. I may as well cut losses now. Back in January, the only reason I got THOR #619 was because that happened to ship on a slow week and I needed at least 3 comics to review for Examiner.

Looks very good, otherwise.

So Marvel's new policy is trying to cram as many $4 comics in one week as they can? I've noticed this of late. They space out the $3 and minis but the $4 ongoings they cram into one week. If I'm counting right there's 10 $4 ongoings here (not including #1's that'll likely be $3 afterwords). Anyway, this is the 3rd straight big week in a row convincing me that I HAVE to drop stuff because I can't afford this anymore. I've already dropped Thunderbolts, Brightest Day, and Green Arrow recently (sold everything to Half Priced Books to better enforce my decision to do so) and I dropped New Mutants but am getting it for the Age of X crossover. I'm debating on dropping Amazing Spider-Man since all the pointless deaths have made me care less about the book. It's been decent but not worth the pricetag twice a month. I'm still debating but we'll see. There's tons of things I love buying but things have got to get cut even if I DO enjoy them all.

I'm going to buy both initially. It's hard for me to stop buying Thor cold-turkey, but I suspect having JiM as an alternative will make it easier if Fraction's suckage continues into The Mighty Thor.

This title's been consistently good since Pak took it on with 601. Even Loeb's influence (A-Bomb, WWHs, Red-She Hulk, etc.) hasn't hurt it one bit in my opinion.

And it WAS really good when I told you it was good. You even said the first two issues were good, maybe the 3rd, I forget. It went downhill on issues that came out AFTER I recommended it.

But Incredible Hulks has been better than than those X-Men books 439%, and consistently for 20-something issues (save some of Dark Son some say, though I liked them). I think that's a better record than X-Men had going at the point of recommendation. Put it this way... of all the characters in the Marvel Universe that I didn't give a crap about I think Hulk was at the top of the list. In my almost 20 years of comics reading I could NEVER get into the comic or the character. It is now one of my favorites each month. That's gotta say something.

I lost interest in Hiro-Kala like 2 issues into Skaar, so I'll probably never bother to pick up "Dark Son" anyway. I think I will continue with Incredible Hulks for now, though. I'm glad to see they're at least treating Betty like the nutjob she is as Red She-Hulk. The characters are still true to themselves, despite there being so goddamn many of them.

Yeah, #3 or 4 was where it stopped making sense. A comic can't succeed if literally everything anyone does leaves you going, "Bwuh?" Same problem Thor's currently having, unfortunately.
