Pretty big week in the world of Hellboy. I'm actually considering buying both versions of Hellboy: The Fury if my shop has both. The Francavilla cover is gorgeous. With the way it's been though, my shop usually carries the variant so I may be in luck. I intend to do the same when Baltimore: The Curse Bells #1 comes out as well. THAT cover is amazing.

I'm not really holding my breath on Turf #5 though. It's been solicited for the past few weeks with nothing to show.

The Flashpoint Batman book i'm only buying because of the creative team, and I hope that, to an extent, I don't need to be reading Flashpoint to understand it.

8 books, with only 2 of them being over $2.99. This used to be a heavy week as of a year ago; lately, it's been a lighter week compared to the past 5-6 weeks. Since the end of April, it's been a deluge. Between overpriced specials and double shipping, I may be reaching a limit with some books. SECRET AVENGERS is the closest to the chopping block. It's a book that is $3.99 that has been "meh" for half of Brubaker's run and is now entering a phase where it will have 2 writers within 8 issues; a sign editorial doesn't give a fig about it. Why do I? Because I wanted to try Nick Spencer. But will it be enough?

Given that HAUNT #16 is here, I have to say the delays behind GUARDING THE GLOBE, a 6-8 issue limited series, have been pretty embarrassing. It's not even hitting a bimonthly schedule. It was meant to take place during the "Viltrumite War" story in INVINCIBLE, which ran about 7-8 issues, which itself ran late, and has now been over a month. Crazy.

Also, attaching BOOSTER GOLD to FLASHPOINT has already boosted sales; issue #44 will be getting a second print.

The shame of things, and a lot of weeks, is that most times the material is good. FEAR ITSELF will be blah, but it's the biggie.

I'm still back and forth on dropping Amazing Spider-Man though I'm behind an issue or two now due to my indecisiveness. Astonishing I'll only buy if its the Gage story and not the Way story. Moon Knight I'll skim through to see if it's worth the price.

Fear Itself is still on the to buy list but if this issue isn't much better than the previous two it may become a "maybe" beginning next issue.

I thought Gage was doing a whole arc and then Way and then Gage, etc. Luckily, I keep HeavyInk open to look up descriptions of what's happening in some of my non-regular comics when I'm making my lists in these threads, so I caught Marvel trying to inflict Way on me in the nick of time.

Yeah, I thought the same thing and then heard that its not going to be arc by arc. I think that's kinda stupid unless the two stories played off one another somehow, but Gage has already said they wouldn't so it makes no real sense. Oh well.

Way's story has been fantastic. This seems like the type of book he should be writing. He's definitely brought the fun back in the X-Men...something that's been sorely missed. Give it a try...or, at least see if your shop has his previous two issues, read them in store, and see what you think. I'm loving it.

No, I think Uncanny is strickly Gillen. The artist is arc by arc with I think Dodson and Land still (Mr. Sucky McTraceface himself). Dodson's doing the current arc about Breakworld and the next arc focused on Fear Itself is Land.
