The Disney owns Fox thread

I think you can essentially put down the output to the individual heads of the sub-studios. Kennedy. Feige. Lassetter. Something would be lost, if 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight are shuttered, however.

Will there even be a place for Lassetter if Disney would even allow him to come back?

Yeah, he is likely to be gone, but his efforts has lead to a general uptick in quality from Disney Animation.

here we go! Will it happen? Will it fall apart again? We'll see.

Curiously, this doesn't affect the Universal Studios theme park rights to Spider-Man and the characters held there.

If this happens, then there needs to be jobs maintained for everyone. Fox might as well keep their production studio properties.

as far as movie characters-

There's no excuse not to eventually have Wolverine vs. Predator, and to introduce the Xenomorphs to the Star Wars universe.

Those properties have no business crossing over to me. Crossover comics between brands and companies are usually garbage so I wouldn't even be interested.

Sorry for saying this. But Disney is such a showoff.

The only reason Disney can hit over 5 billion at the worldwide box office is because of marvel, star wars, pixar movies.

Without Marvel,Star Wars and Pixar, do you honestly think Disney can exceed billions at the worldwide box office??

First, it was WB that passed $5B at the global box office this year.

Second,it's not showing off... It's conducting business and reporting their successes and failures, which is also part of business.

Third, it's pretty silly saying a company couldn't reach certain milestones with out a slew of their top assets... Yeah, obviously. And Mickey Mantle couldn't hit a home run without a bat!

I'm not a fan of this deal if goes down. It just feels like it's going to be an absolute mess of a situation when it comes to the separation of the TV and movie assets and the varying licensing deals that come along with them.

Even if they come to a deal, the FCC still has to approve it.
That may happen, but it is going to be awhile before we know..

Disney buying Fox films I’m ok with solely for Marvel. Hugh Jackman would come back as Wolverine I mean chamon. Plus, Phase 4 of the MCU would be Galactus.

I don’t care about Avatar, Alien or Die Hard.

Or Disney having even more strength to bully theaters with.

Which probably means more costs being passed down to regular moviegoers.

Disney buying up Fox's catalogue also means I'll have to pay for another streaming subscription if I want to watch stuff that will surely be taken off Netflix. :cmad:

So... whats going to happened to the upcoming rated R movies that Fox is doing?

Gonna be honest; Disney could take over the world and I'd be fine with it.

Because they're not there already?

Comcast is trying to jump in the game against Disney now for the Fox assets I'm seeing on CNBC.

Eh, at least the wannabe net neutrality assassins aren't getting anything.

That's why excess competition isn't good in every industry. Gaming is another one. 2 or 3 hardware providers works well but if Amazon, Apple and Google all got involved it would be a hassle for the consumer missing out on a tonne of games if they buy only one system.

Lucasfilm was already doing this type of stuff to theatres in 1999.
