Because surely soap operas and Marvel comics court the same audience.
Right?
Sigh...just more "anything for a buck" Marvel at work.
The only connection I can think of is that MJ used to star in this soap opera called "Secret Hospital" which was a Riff on General Hospital...which doesn't air on CBS like GUIDING LIGHT does. But I haven't seen any writer mention that in a comic in years.
What's the point though? Isn't it a safe bet to say that comics fans don't watch soaps and soap fans don't read comics? So what in the world does this accomplish?...it's stupid.
Ya this is gonna bomb, but it's a train wreck that I'll enjoy watching.
I'm waiting for it to sell like 2 copies, so they put Joss Whedon on it to bump sales or something.
I mean damn, a soap opera character splashes coke on her hand and touches a wall socket!?! Then becomes some electic woman and fights sandman, and dies I guess, and we're supposed to care? I mean maybe if this was Doop fighting sandman and dying, or Monkey Joe (if he was still alive), then it would be a tragedy , but electric soap opera girl....person?
Of course there is. It's just that marvel has him bound and gagged in a trunk so he can't stop this stuff.....or prevent genocide in places like Africa, but mainly the whole bad comics stuff.
