Panini UK Does Spider-Man Right

That's as far as I got with this post.
When Stan Lee appears in a non-superhero movie (Mallrats), he almost always serves as an unintentional repudiation of comic fandom, and of comic fans, as does the movie itself. When he appears in superhero movies, it's just that his acting is terrible. Not to mention, he gets these weird, self-aggrandizing parts...

It's rare that you and I agree on something, Doc, but when we do, it's when it matters.

I prefer it when characters talk like real people. I guess that's just me.
Bendis' characters all talk like New Yorkers with a stutter, though. No matter where they're from. Stan's dialogue wasn't exactly a shining example of the craft or anything, but at least he could kind of give characters unique voices, unlike Bendis, who writes everyone... like Bendis.

Not just New Yorkers with a stutter, but Jewish New Yorkers with a stutter.

I'd much rather have spidey more around the human level (strength level five) than taking out hulk strengthed victims. I'm not sure what 8 times one's body weight is (give or take a few multiple for reduction of legs and anthromorphic structure). but i don't think its ten tonnes (or maybe around 15 odd now with all his boosts).

I must say i haven't really kept up with comics these days, i've been out of the loop for a while so how exactly did spidey override the suit?

Apparently, off-screen he found out about Starks shut down feature in the suit. He created a voice pass code to override it "surprise", and well-- I think you can see where I'm going.

meh, i always preferred parker's 'quick-on-his-feet' thinking....

he used to be the jackie chan of superheroes when it came to improvising with his surroundings...

EXACTLY. Bendis lost me forever when Spider-Man said "Oy". Nothing anti-semite here...It would be just as bad if Colossus said "fo shizzle" or Captain America said "*****in'!" These characters are well established and HAVE VOICES.

It would be just as bad if Colossus said "fo shizzle" .

Snoop Rasputin.

Actually, he already has the "grill", all he needs is the big clock around his neck and a fuzzy hat. (Somebody please Photoshop a picture like that for me...)

Xavier once said fo shizzle in a hilarious remake of House of M ish 1. Must be going around.

Seriously. Worst misplaced hatred EVER.
I just...look, I'm just tired of him getting credit for ****. He made terrible comics, and any comic that he was involved in that ended up half-decent was in spite of him, not because of him. He doesn't deserve the fame and fortune and reputation that he has, and better men than him dwell in obscurity forever because he just happened to be a better business-*******. He's like Bob Kane to the millionth power.

I have heard "oy" used in an ironic, whimsical way by many non-Jews, and I would assume Bendis was going for same.

Yes, Bendis does that, and I do not like Bendis' writing very much. But Stan Lee wrote every character like a ****ing Super Friends reject.

When Stark AND Danvers AND Janet sound the same, Bendis is writing them. :o

Let's not forget the extremely out of character though bubbles.

I agree with that too. Over the years, he's lost everything that's charming about him. His powers mean nothing because peek humans can handle him. He's stupid enough to fight Morlun head on despite a previous encounter where he dared not do it again. He plays side kick. And finally he makes deals with satan.

Yep. Miss the old web head.

You mean the ones that reveal that everyone secretly hates everyone else with a passion? Yeah, I'd rather just forget about those.

They have, although he's generally been portrayed as even weaker than usual in spite of that.

Eh. With his comic going back to focusing on supervillains rather than terrorist groups or hitmen or some drama with May or MJ, we'll probably see him display his powers better.

What the...who the **** is THIS *****ebag?
