"The End of the Beginning," - Smallville forums memories thread

I've been thinking about doing the trade-in thing with Amazon. How was the process? Was it easy? How long did it take for you to get the credit after you shipped the DVDs or Blu-rays?
It's a painless process. In my experience, it took all of a week to a week and a half to get my credit.

Transference was awesome, as was Onyx.

Lex: "I am the villian of the story!"

Watching Clark/Lionel hit on Martha was super creepy.

Edit: Plus season four gave us Shelby.

I loved the episode Transference as well, but I have to say the best part for me, was Clark/Lionel walking into the riot. Right as the chorus for "Pain" kicked on.

One of my favorite scenes is when Lionel finally tells Lex that he loves him and Lex just stares at him and walks out of the room.

End of the beginning may mean the end of the backstory to the Superman legend. :super:

Actually just traded in all my season box sets this morning. Close to $70 in Amazon credit for all nine seasons. So they better come out with a complete set on blu-ray. And soon!

How does one do this?

That was my favorite part as well.

Tom looked badass walking into the prison. :woot:

From this season, probably my favorite moment is Clark explaining to Lois in Masquerade while Clark Kent must become the disguise. Really liked that moment.

Memoria in Season 3 is another, Lex and Lionel's final scene. "Yes dad, you may have actually loved me..."

And Rosetta, when Clark walks into Swann's office and the Fortress of Solitude theme starts.

I really liked Absolute Justice. My only disappointment was the death of Kent Nelson

I remember when I first watched Smallville. My wife and I were told of the show by my parents as they know I'm a huge Superman fan. We had no cable or internet or anything at the time due to money so the show was already finished with its first and second seasons by the time we learned about it.

My wife knew nothing of Superman or comics so we went to a friends house and the very first episode we watched was Exile when season three started. What a way to get introduced to the show, I was hooked.

As soon as season 1 & 2 showed up on DVD we picked them up and blew through them. We've been Smallville devotees ever since. In fact my wife has pretty much been introduced to many of the dc characters due to Smallville such as the JLA/JSA/ and the various Supes villains.

As we watch I tend to have to explain characters and histories to her. So if it wasn't for Smallville my wife wouldn't understand why I love the character and universe of Superman so much. :awesome:

so true hulk, its going to be great to see the show have its ending. Cant wait for all the super moments we are bound to get. But will be sad to see it go. its pretty much been the only show i watched every episode aired, and see it aired live and never missed it. pretty heard thing to do with work/school and all that in the past few yrs.

GOODBYE smallville for all the good and bad like i said it has been an enjoyable show to watch.

ya its sad with sv over now, we will probably not get another live action dc character for a long time :(

I used ot watch the show religously back in 2004 and 2005. Then, I started to hop on and off of the show adn really not watching all the much from 20006 until now. However, I watched the season finale and my god, it really made me sad. I'll most likely be picking pu the series boxset.

You will be missed, Smallville.

Hi folks,

Just wanted to pop in and say 'Hey' to any of the lurkers who still remember me, and tell you that my sojourn here during "the middle years" with the old-schoolers was just as much a part of my journey through the 'Ville as the show was itself...

...And keep an eye out on the Finale reaction thread -- I will pop in over there later on this weekend to outline exactly why, in logical terms, the Finale works well as a conclusion to the entire series...

:word:

Like I said somewhere else, it likely wont truly hit me that Smallville is done until either this summer when there are no Season 11 Spoilers or next September when there's no new episodes.

The show wasnt perfect but it spanned what was one of the more difficult decades of my life. It was there for me when I needed it and provided a needed distraction, and on top of all that rekindled my interest in a character and medium that I had long lost touch with.

Totally hulk it wasn't a perfect show. They made many bad choices from time to time. But they did do alot of good things and also we got to see a live action dcu. And for alot of characters first ever live action forms and all that. So for me overall the show was great.

Man, I seriously regreat not watching the show on a weekly basis the past 5 years. Which all the more makes me want to pick up the box sets soon. This show was different, but that's what it was suppsoed to be. Can't people accept that?

Sadly, they can't.

Of course, I can understand people who complain about the writing and dialogue, and how the show seemed to focus more on relationships than other things. But the people who simply hate on the show because its not a Superman show are what upsets me more. I love this show because it made Clark Kent relevant, and it showed me that Superman is a much more complicated person than I thought he was. I thought he was just some perfect goody two shoes, which Superman can come across as sometimes. But to see the story behind Clark Kent, I believe it gave him more depth in my eyes, enough so that Superman is now my favorite superhero above Spider-Man.

I was just thinking, I don't care if it's a t-shirt or not...I still love that shirt rip scene.
