Maybe this is old news, but I recently bought a couple of new volumes off amazon.com.

Guess which two.

It's like owning a book series with two books from a different publisher. It throws off the whole look of my collection. I wish they had at least kept the look of the vol. numbers the same.

You feel the need to complain about...this? :whatever:

let me know when they start making them in color.

This is the third such change for the Essentials, and I have all three "looks" in my bookshelf...

Yeah, it's an eyesore, but I wouldn't complain about it...

Otherwise, sell your older ones and buy the newer look ones... :oldrazz:

:yay:

I'm sure you'd complain about something that I'd think is petty, so...yeah.

I'm curious what the marketing reason for the change was.

Yeah, uhh... welcome to last year.

Theres no "marketing" reason to it. Every few years they update the look of the essential line from flashy new covers to now spine art....it really is no biggie.

yes, because this complai is still legit to this day.

You can deal with something and still use your right to complain about it. It's not all black and white like in a comic book.

If you guys are not interested by this thread, why even bother posting in it?

Yea, the essential books have always interested me, but I won't actually buy them until they put them in color.

The black and white is just terrible looking.

They haven't put out a new book for quite some time. It's too bad, because there were some that I would like to see more complete, especially Submariner and Nick Fury.

Why are you going around the forum and bumping threads that are over 5 or 6 years old?

Obviously it's not going to change.

I ordered Daredevil volume 2,3,5 & 6 not knowing they were in black and white so I was a bit surprised at that. Maybe once I start reading them it won't be a problem, but I am waiting for volume 1 first.

I kinda like the black and white, it adds to the nostalgia factor imo.

They did release a new essential Daredevil (n°6) in november 2013. I'm quite convinced they will release n°7 one day or another, since it makes the bridge to Frank Miller's run as a writer.

Because it interests me. I know it won't change. and yet, it is my right to voice my opinion about it.

You're right to wait for volume 1. That said, i'm sure as soon as you start reading them, you won't be bothered that much by them being black and white.
