Don't read unless you've watched the latest episode....

With the reveal that Hank Henshaw is actually the Martian Manhunter it's got me to thinking what other DC heroes might appear on Supergirl. I think it's safe to say that the Red Tornado will most likely come back as a hero at some point in the future and I would imagine they can't use heroes that are already appearing on Arrow, the Flash and Legends of Tomorrow like The Atom, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, etc unless they are legally allowed to do so with a crossover. So who do you think we could be likely to show up?

I think we may still see Connor Kent aka Superboy at some stage, I think an arc involving Cadmus (which could mean they could use the Guardian) and Superboy would be a hell of a season storyline. I think using him as a weapon as he was in the New 52 could be really cool but then turn him good later. Although I don't know if he's off limits with the Teen Titans show in development (if it ever happens).

As long as it doesn't take away from who and what the series is about....I'm good. But, I don't want it to get too distracting and cluttered just to get in as many DC characters as possible. What we have right now is looking good.

I agree and I just mean for these characters to appear in big events like they do for Flash and Arrow

Well, for me Arrow has gotten to cluttered, but that's just me. ;)

No I agree with you, wish it would get back to been Oliver and Diggle with the Black Canary appearing on occasion. I do think this seasons death might sort some of that out. But my point was just about one offs like when Flash and Arrows characters crossover.

Man i'd love to see Batgirl and Wondergirl in a future season of Supergirl.

Maybe some Starfire and Raven too.

i doubt we will ever see a crossover with arrowverse worlds and characters. So yea what ever dc heroes/villains that may appear on supergirl is likely ones that are not in use by other shows ie gotham, arrow, flash, izombie, and that upcoming lucifer show. There is still plently of decent to minor heroes and villains they could bring in.

We are no longer dealing with embargoes being applied across-the-board, so I wouldn't be too quick to assume that a character is automatically off-limits just because they've been used (or could be used) elsewhere.

IMO, They aren't gonna have a Hawkman on Supergirl different to the one on LOT. It's as simple as, this is a discussion concerning what character they may use.

Anyway lets get suggesting some characters, ermm....

Not being likely to do something is not the same thing as not being able to do something. I don't think they're likely to bring in their own versions of Arrow-verse characters, but that doesn't automatically or necessarily mean that they couldn't if they wanted to.

I made that statement you quoted more in relation to the idea of a possible Batgirl appearance being rendered off-limits due to Gotham's licensing agreement than anything else, BTW.

not really we know there is still embargoes on characters like arrow wanted to use blue beetle, and we only been able to get nods to ted kord company. but cant see him as the producers said wb/dc wouldnt allow it, just like they had to kill off deadshot per request from wb/dc. There is still embargoes on certain characters, be it the big named guys, to others who might be in a project coming and wb/dc doesnt give clearance on.

As has been noted, the specific embargoes you're talking about pertain exclusively to Arrow, and there has been zero indication of restrictions being in place regarding characters that Supergirl may or may not have access to.

Exactly

We know unequivocally that, should Gotham's producers decide that they wanted to use any of the Batman-affiliated characters that are being currently used in the Suicide Squad movie or that were previously featured on Arrow, they would be allowed to do so no-questions-asked (and without any objections from WB and/or DC) because of the licensing agreement that FOX struck on their behalf. That fact in and of itself proves that you cannot look at what's been embargoed over on Arrow and then apply said embargo across every other DCTV property that is currently on the air.

i was just pointing out gotham is a different case where the other dc shows dont have that same freedom and since all the others out currently are by one producing group i would figure they wouldnt have much different deals in place or red tape issues as their others show have.

I don't see why they couldn't. They most likely won't, but I wouldn't say that they can't.

B- and C-level heroes like Booster Gold or Starfire.

Supergirl, The Flash, and Arrow may be produced by the same people, but that doesn't mean that what applies to one of those series applies to ALL of them, especially when we have never been explicitly told whether or not there are any restrictions in place specifically pertaining to either The Flash or Supergirl regarding characters that they do or do not have access to.

I'm pretty sure any restrictions for a Arrow apply to the Flash.

DC will still approve the scripts, the Salkinds had exclusive rights to the Superman properties but DC still had to approve characters and scripts.

Maybe couldn't isn't the right word but again with DC having to approve things they would probably reject it.

They'd be cool

We don't know what DC would or wouldn't approve vis-a-vis character rights usage. The only reason we know about the Arrow-exclusive character embargoes of Kord and certain Suicide Squad characters is because we were told about them.

Saying "DC would probably reject such and such character" is idle and useless speculation couched in cynicism.

All we where pointing out there is restrictions they have on folks they can't use. So it's likely implied to be same deal with supergirl. Besides supergirl doing Martian manhunt er I doubt we see any other big guns guys on aupergirl. It likely be more lower tier guys.

There IS no "likely" in this situation because they're not playing by the same rules as they were in the past.

Constantly knocking people's OWN opinions and acting like you know better is useless aswell.

Ignore him somewhere he thinks he knows better, maybe he's Greg Berlanti in disguise.
