Never heard of the books TBH, but this has been on the edge of my radar for a while. Checked out the pilot and I'm.... Intrigued. Liked what I saw. The fact that Syfy has already renewed it is promising. Really liked the CGI

2 episodes in, and I'm finding it difficult to follow what the heck is going on. The show at least looks pretty good, the acting is good though some of the accents trip me up sometimes, but it may be too dense... which is rare complaint to have. I wonder if that's gonna scare away a wide audience away from watching this in the long run.

4 ep in, so far so good. The SFX are really good and the plots starts to be clearer.

It reminds me of the comic book Universal War even if the plots are different, the setting is similar ( humanity colonized the Solar System and faction war ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Universal_War_One

I've watched the 4 episodes, I'm liking this, I don't know whats coming up but I'm getting a good feeling, felt like back during the good episodes of Battlestar Galactica days

I do like it too. I remember hearing about the television series last year but had not heard of the books. Only found out the first four episodes had been streamed a few days ago and binge watched them.

It's already been renewed for a second season I think, or has the scripts being written for it in anticipiation of being renewed. Either way it is looking good for another season.

Syfy has renewed the freshman drama from Alcon Television Group for a 13-episode Season 2, to air in early 2017.

“The Expanse is firing on all cylinders creatively, building a passionate fan base among viewers and critics alike, and delivering on Syfy’s promise of smart, provocative science fiction entertainment,” network president Dave Howe said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see where the story takes us in Season 2.”

Good. The first season is still ongoing but I've really enjoyed it.

Finally caught up with the show and it's another space series winner for SyFy. They've put out 3 good ones (Dark Matter, Killjoy) in the last 6-7 months and they've all been picked up.

Glad that it's already renewed. I'm at EP05, this is the best space TV show since BSG 2004.
I've spoiled myself hard about the story and read the synopsis of the books, I can't wait for the events to come.

This is quality Sci-fi. I like that Syfy seems to successfully be going back to their roots.

Now that they have a refocused management more interested in actually producing scifi and related shows instead of more wrestling and completely unrelated shows it's time to see what they can do.

The Expanse has been great so far. Interesting plots, settings, and characters keeps me coming back for more. Good to hear it's already renewed for another season.

Well, EP06 was good, more info are given about the past events and the crew of the Rocinante started their journey.
I've never read Don Quixote but Rocinante is the name of his horse.

Not much Hypesters watch this show it seems.

I've fallen behind because all my TV viewing time right now is devoted to getting caught up on The X-Files. But when that's done I'll get right back on schedule with this. It's too good not to. And it's comforting knowing it's already got a 2nd season so there's not the usual freshman show worries.

I really dislike Holden.

Why is that ? So far the only character I don't like very much is the Earth counselor because she is shady and I don't like her hoarse voice.

I watch the show, have not read the books yet (a recurring theme these days) but not much to comment on about it right now either.

Forgot about this. Trying to catch up. I'm on the 5th episode. I'm really digging the show. It's nice to see a sci-fi space story. I miss BSG, it was my all time fav show.

I can't get over Brad Johnson. Not the character, he's great, and I love the way Chad Coleman plays him, and I love his dynamic with Holden. But "Brad Johnson" is such a dud of a name for a sci-fi character, especially one this significant in the story.
