Saw this last night with some friends and I loved it definitely better than the first. The one shot with all of them including arnie and Willis shooting at the airport was amazing!!! Van damme was awesome
I wish he could have been kept alive for another sequel

He can come back in the sequel has his Twin!...:woot:

I really wonder if Norris at 72 could do a decent fight scene, and if he tried, maybe people would be like.."that was sooo lame!!!, he looked slow and funny!!"
Good point. I had forgotten how old he was.

Is it just me, or does Arnold look older than Chuck? Even though Chuck has 7 years on him.

EDIT: So I just discovered that Chuck Norris is 72?! Now I feel bad for expecting him to fight a guy 20 years his junior, lol. Wouldn't want him to break a hip or something. But damn, I really wanted to see that match-up. :(

Norris might of had a heart attack seeing Jean Claude flying through the air.

It would of been interesting to see JCVD vs Statham or Jet Li. I still enjoyed the fight scene but was surprised Jean Claude agreed to get taken out in such a way.

I agree about JCVD flickchick. I cant believe he got beat so easily. Although I still enjoyed this movie I think I liked the first a little better.

JCVD actually petitioned for this ending. Originally he was going to be shot down leaving in a helicopter.

Interesting. What we got was definetely better at least.

As an action fan I loved it. I wish the Muscles from Brussels had more action (seemed a bit wasted, he's my favorite action-star) but still... the final battle was epic and he oozed charisma. Solid 8.5 out of 10.

JCVD never lacked the machismo that's for damn sure... problem with today is audiences want their action stars to have feelings and emote their mommy/daddy issues... it's too bad because even in his early-mid 50's Jean is still in another class compared to what we have now... even guys like the Rock (who I like).

I think Rock is really the torch-bearer right now for this generation, but the problem I have with him is he needs to be more like his old WWE persona.. perhaps he just needs the right role to come around.

It's all those years that Arnold had been with Skeletor that did him in.:hehe:

I don't think a JCVD /Jet Li fight scene would look any better since their styles don't mesh. JCVD tends to have a slower, telegraphed style and I think Li would have to slow down dramatically to incorporate it in a fight scene which would make him less effective.

Fortunately Rock is doing more action films. He might be ready to take on the reigns but hopefully it works out this time. Doom could have ruined his career.

Yeah , that would of been a huge disappointment. At least Van Damme got to show off a little bit.

You might be right. Jet Li is really fast but also versatile. They might of made it work. It would of been something to see though. I'm hoping JCVD will show up in the next Rush Hour film. I think he'd get better roles playing the heavy.

Sequel hopes aren't looking great. At the pace it's at now people are expecting it to finish with around $80m domestic when the last one finished with $100m. Not to mention the sequel had a higher budget.

Unless overseas markets really carry this film i can't see a sequel being made. Which is a shame since this was a fun movie better than the 1st.

Just wanted to say i thought this movie was great great fun. I really gotta give props to Stallone for gathering all these stars together for an epic action flick. You can tell from the onscreen chemistry that these guys are all friends in real-life (although supposedly there was tension between Van Damme and Stallone? Or am I wrong about that?)

The opening of this movie was actually my favorite part, it was just pure, relentless madness! I was sad to see Jet Li leave but Norris and Arnold "I'm Back!" Schwazenneger more than made up for it. And to see the holy trinity of 80's/90's action movies fight together (Stallone, Arnold and Willis), it made my 25 year old heart happy.

Yeah, if Norris (understandably) wasn't able, I think JCVD vs. Statham would have been the best match and a far more enjoyable fight to watch than the one we got.

It's already playing well overseas and the DVD sales for this will more than make up the costs of making it... U.S. domestic may be a tad bit disappointing, but my guess is the 3rd will still be a go... especially with guys like Snipes/Seagal still out there who could add to the cast.

There are other films that have done poorly and gotten sequels.

That's quite rare for that to happen and we're talking about a sequel to a sequel here not a first movie.

For expendable 2 to get an ex-3 i believe the WW tally will have to somehow exceed the last at the very least. Otherwise i can't see the studio having any motivation to make another expendables.

I mean they already ramped up everything for the sequel got more starpower, so the cards and gonna fall where they do.

Probably make a truck load when it hits Blu-ray/DVD.

I'd be very surprised to not see a 3rd. If anything, the budget will probably be cut.

TBH, I don't see how this one cost 100 mil.

(that's not a knock or anything, I just don't see the 100 million in the movie.)

The big actors like Arnold and Willis probably cost a pretty penny. I don't even think they got paid for their first appearance.

Saw this last week, got exactly what I wanted and expected from it, I really hope they get to make the 3rd movie but the BO is a bit dissapointing compared to the first movie.

8/10.

Saw this again seeing if I'd like it. Nope hate it even more than I did the first time I saw it. My biggest complaint is Jean Claude quite literally does nothing in this movie. He talks a lot but his henchmen do all his dirty work and finally he gets his moment to shine against Sly but no he gets the crap beat out of him in one of the worst fights I've ever seen. Randy Couture and Terry Crews were completely pointless. A lot of it felt like Smallville's monster of the week but instead it was which washed up, horrible acting 80's action star will show up next and of course there's always the dramatic music to go with it. Speaking of what a horrible soundtrack, I get it their old and listen to classic music you don't need a new song blaring everytime we cut to a new scene. The only things I liked about this movie were Billy the kid(the only non 1 dimensional character in the movie), Jason Statham, that action scene in the middle where Statham is a priest, and Ahhhnold and Bruce in the last action scene, they were fun together. Besides those this movie was terrible. 4/10
