if he was still alive, I would actually be all for Patrick Swayze to show up in some role (think Point Break and Road House Swayze).

Had the same thought the other day but sadly that will never be. His brother Don Swayze is still alive, so maybe he could fill in but don't know if he can fight as good as Patrick.

It's sad to hear that Chuck isn't going to be in Exp 3... But then again Exp2 gave him the perfect send off... If that's the last time we see Chuck in a film, it was perfect... They respected the mam, the legend and his career...

And it allows other people to join as well...

You couldn't have it any better than Norris did in Expendables. I think it's wise for him to move on. He had his day in the sun and this will make room for other stars. Also it makes his minor role more special instead of wearing the joke thin.

Sylvester Stallone seems hell-bent on collecting every Hollywood badass who ever lived for his ever-expanding Expendables series, with Wesley Snipes, Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood the latest names on his hit-list for Part Three.

Producer Avi Lerner told us that Nic Cage has already been brought on board to join the cast, and that plans were afoot to add the other three as soon as possible. However, the plan might have hit a slight setback when it comes to Eastwood…

"He does?" asked Eastwood, when told that Stallone wants him to join in the fun. "I haven't had the opportunity to see [The Expendables] yet. I haven't read any material.”

So would he consider taking a role, when Sly comes a-knocking? “Probably not,” replied Eastwood. “I'm probably more apt to direct something. Maybe I'll direct Expendables 3.”

Now that would be an interesting change of pace. How are you with directing motorbikes flying into helicopters, Mr Eastwood? Mr Eastwood? Where are you going?

I called it after its first weekend but i just can't see them making a 3rd one after how ex-2 has performed BO wise.

Adding new stars and bigger names would just add to a potential sequels budget as ex-2 already cost 20 million more to make than the 1st.

The next sequel seriously needs to balance out both sides. In Expendables 2 the good guys have an overwhelming amount of muscle men fighting for them (Stallone, Norris, Schwarzenegger, Willis, Crews, Lundgren, etc.) and the bad guys only had Van Damme?

But the expendable (ha) cannonfodder is a defining characteristic of 1980s action movies, which is what this film series is trying to emulate.

Hell i enjoyed the movie but i mean from a financial standpoint i don't see them justifying another sequel especially with more stars and salaries.
