Three people check into a hotel. They pay £30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is £25 and gives £5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that £5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets £2 and gives £1 to each person. Now each person paid £10 and got back £1. So they paid £9 each, totalling £27. The bellboy has £2, totalling £29. Where is the missing £1?

It's a reality TV show. There are 16 housemates in the same house and the audience are voting them off one by one. The last one standing wins the money. I never really liked the show, but this year's show is getting pretty interesting than the previous years.

That is correct. It is all to do with how you add it up cuz there is no missing pound

It is also the worst piece of crap on tv filled with braindead moronic ***** with no talent whatsoever, turned into overnight celebrities simply by acting stupid, swearing and having (or not having) sex on camera.

The whole show is a pointless waste of time which I refuse to watch and instead think it should be banned for al time with an apology to the viewing public for wasting their time on such uninteresting drivel

Yeah you see originally, they paid £30, they each received back £1, thus they now have only paid £27. Of this £27, £25 went to the manager for the room and £2 went to the bellboy.

My poor brain, it has such a hard time wrapping itself around puzzles like that. I suck at math and I'm even worse at word problems. I have a hard time visualizing things. *squeekness is glad she is no longer in school*
