I'm not sure if anyone would honestly "love it", but you can bet your bottom dollar we'd have people here vehemently defending it on principle.

Considering they've defended literally every single thing up to this point, some even defending this embargo, I'd say that's a pretty safe bet.

With the way so much of the production has been un-Marvel comic book like.....it wouldn't surprise me if they made Johnny the leader. Some people will of course love that....I on the other hand say....just another example of pissing on the characters I love. But I do wonder if they could be playing Johnny up in the trailers only to switch it up in the movie.

Here's my prediction: Throughout the film, Johnny will do most of the talking. He'll be the one standing up to the military, and for all practical purposes, he will be the star and leader of the team.

Then at the end, Reed will deliver a poorly written, awkward speech that will have the audience squirming in their chairs. That speech will bring everybody together as a team and show him to be the 'leader'.

How do I know? That's what Tim Story did, so that's what they'll do in this film. They dare not diverge from the formula Story created.

"Obviously, there was no need for us to develop a containment suit."

I'm gonna run naked down my street and when people (police, I imagine) ask why. This is what I'll tell them.

I wonder if they will have Ben look forlornly down at his barren nethers and mutter "what a revolting development this is...".

Could end up being an apt tagline for the film come to think of it...

:funny: I suspect they'll make some reference to it, but I highly doubt it will be nearly that good or faithful to the source material.

maybe they are afraid that the critics are some of those people who want to sabotage the movie because they hate the changes....

I'd say no. Critics were divided on Man of Steel and supportive of Ant-Man. If this film is universally panned, it's not because of changes, it's because the film is terrible and even reshooting half the film and keeping the runtime under two hours couldn't manage to get rid of some of the more dreadful scenes. Reviews come in early for most films, in fact, many films get shown months in advance at festivals. Not screening a film ahead of the premiere is a massive red flag.

This is how Fox justifies Trank's costume choices? This is pathetic. Thankfully Trank will never ruin another big budget Hollywood film ever again.

It also wouldn't surprise me if Doom's main rivalry is with Johnny instead of Reed, given that they've supposedly made him 'the third Storm sibling.'

Yes. Once again, it's everybody ELSE'S fault and it's not just a bad movie.

The level of fanaticism people exhibit defending THIS movie, of ALL movies, confuses me.

That poor man's viral marketing though. :whatever:

Also, this whole military angle is so dated. I can't believe they reduced Mole Man to a DoD Contractor.

Exec 1: "Well this movie's going to bomb. How do we drum up interest?
Exec 2: "Viral marketing?"
Exec 1" "Great idea! That worked so well for The Dark Knight. Maybe we could do websites and scavenger hunts and-"
Exec 2: "That sounds like a whole lot of effort. How about we just call in the guy who played Mole Man to do a monologue where he sounds bored and slap a few clips from the movie together?"

So Channing Tatum may be leaving Gambit.

If he does (and this film ends up being the critical and financial disappointment I and others expect it to be), Twentieth Century Fox needs to scrap that film, finish XM:A and Wolverine, and make a deal with Marvel Studios ASAP.

A precedent has already been set by Sony, Fox needs to suck it up and do the same. Especially if they lose the main thing making a Gambit film interesting.

And with the Singer X-Men universe coming to a natural close with XMA and Wolverine, they need to pull the trigger.

Why? Why? Why would they do that? :csad:

Because they like ****ing **** up I guess.

It's amazing to think that 10 years ago I thought they couldn't screw Doom up any more than they did(even though he LOOKED cool).

But now? Wow did they prove me wrong. And Domashev doesn't even LOOK COOL.

WHAT.

Holy crap. Where'd you see that?

The X-Men franchise is in crisis, but Fox won't let it go, in a long while. They will try ways to keep it going, recasting, whatever it needs (nor that it will work, but they will do it)

I can see them striking a deal to exchange the FF for X-Men TV rights, but no more than that.

O...kay? I might be misremembering? What'd he say?
The idea that Professor Storm has taken him under his wing, and acts as a mentor and a father figure. In no way are they making him a Storm. The only reason this is a problem at all is that Sue is adopted in the first place.

That's...that's what I said.

The "unofficial" third Storm sibling.

Meaning he didn't literally adopt Domashev, he just acts like a father to him.

Which sucks.
