I'm good with the costume. I would have liked to see just a bit more yellow, but it's by no means a deal breaker.

I hope we get to see the costume ring similar to Oliver mask

I honestly hope that's an aspect that gets completely left out of the show. I've always found the idea kinda stupid. Plus, how would they go about explaining it in a way that makes ANY kind of sense whatsoever?

Hey suspension of disbelief you got got a guy who has super speed and a ice villain.

I got that. Like I said they are clearly allowing more comic bookesque material in this show, but I still expect them to remain somewhat grounded and down to Earth. It's just a personal thing that I don't like. Obviously there's plenty of people that share your sentiment about wanting to see it included.

I've never liked the ring costume change either. For me its just too weird to be up there with a classic shirt rip or a telephone booth change!

Atoms are 99.9999999999996% empty space.

Barry removes a lot of that empty space.

I am happy that the suit is not perfect, it leaves room for visual growth to go along with the growth of the character. So as he becomes more like the Flash people know and love character wise, his suit will change and reflect that.

Idk...he's the fastest man alive. I like the idea of him being fast enough to change without the gimmick of the ring. To me, that's more impressive.

He should keep his costume at home at all times and if someone asks him why he doesn't carry it with him he should just say "Well duh, I'm the fastest man alive".

Odds are we will get the ring.

Barry already mentioned a "compressible micro-fabric" when suggesting materials for Ollie's mask.

Definitely an easter egg/establishing point for the ring.

That's what I think also. Why use the words "compressible" and "micro" if it wasn't a reference to the ring bit.

Incremental changes to the costume as the series progresses is what I am hoping for. Look at how jazzed people were when Oliver finally got his domino mask.:yay:

Or, honestly, he might just keep it folded up nice and neat in a pocket or the bottom of his shoe under his foot, and when he needs to get Flash-y, he takes off from one scene, shows up as the Flash in another. I wouldn't read too far into the compressible micro-fabric thing other than as a reason he doesn't have to wear it under his clothes. The ring is pretty far fetched, but more than that, it's excessive. Logically, I would rather keep it hidden somewhere, like the aforementioned pocket or shoe, as opposed to a gold ring with a lightning bolt on it, which could give away my identity. Probably not too smart when people are already going to start questioning absences/odd behavior/being out of breath/always hungry. He's surrounded by other detectives all day. In the comics and animated formats it's a cute and visually stunning gimmick we buy into. In live action, it probably won't be that easy to sell. A guy who can freeze things rapidly can be made to look threatening. A guy who runs fast can look incredible. A toy ring with an expanding costume inside... hard to imagine that not looking cartoony. Or excessive.

However, if I'm proven wrong, I will totally go along with it. I don't hate the ring. I'd welcome it, if pulled off... I just don't see it being something that translates well.

Also, while I'm here, I'll chime in about the rest of the suit. I love it. There are a few lines/seams I think are oddly placed (specifically on the upper arms... IMO, that seam should have stopped just under the deltoid, framing the muscle), and the belt buckle is strange (looks like it would stab him in the gut if he bent over), BUT as a whole, I think its a great and creative translation. If I wanted to go to a concert and hear a band sound EXACTLY the same as the album, with no differences, I'd stay home and listen to the album. I go to a concert to see the show. To hear the way it sounds live, and relish in the variances. The little changes that make live shows so enjoyable.

The same logic applies here. If I wanted the exact same suit as the comics, I'd read a comic or watch something animated. Live action... that's where you see the little things that make the transition worth examining. It's a suit that obviously respects and portrays the character it's made for successfully. Same way that the suit does on Arrow. Same way the Man of Steel suit does. So on and so on. If they change it as the show goes, more power to them. But nobody on that design crew has anything to be ashamed of with the uniform they've put together as of now.

All in my opinion of course. I'm not here to pick any fights!

That's all. I don't post often, but I figured I'd drop by. I'm excited about the show! Can't wait to see what they've got in store!

:)

yeah i hope it eventually changes. what i hope they do with the costume now is that since they showed him being such a big fan of Green Arrow he made his costume look a bit similar to GA's. Then he eventually changes it sometime in the future into something more "Flash"

All I can say is that they easily nailed my biggest concern which was the cowl. That new pic with the logo is an angle I hadn't seen it from yet, and it just looks better and better every time I see it.

Except for the logo on his chest not being right (three pronged, NOT two pronged!!! Again!!!), I really freakin love that image.

They got the Flash's cowl design right, but the rest of his suit looks very low budget (like home-made) maybe that is intentional.

Even though Smallville had a lower budget then Arrow (Both CW shows), Booster Gold's suit in Smallville looked more expensive !

Maybe once he gets a new suit a few seasons down the line. The current suit doesn't look like compressible micro-fabric. Especially not the cowl, or those leather pants.

With a good dose of suspension of disbelief, I could buy that you can put a suit like the image below into a ring. The current suit though? No way.

A simple red costume with a single texture would be enough, honestly. $20,000 would do it.

Are you sure, though? The thing that occurs to me is "lighting". Which is to say, are they choosing the costume color in part because they anticipate it interacting with lighting during filming?

Captain Amazing!!!!!

I kid, obviously. I loved BG's Smallvile costume. Id me great to see those pics made into a manip so its Flash standing alongside BG.

BG looks like a NASCAR driver, lol.

That how booster works. from another post
Seriously, how awesome would that be? The best part is you could pay for the whole damn thing with product placement and it wouldn't be remotely out of place!

I just can't get the image out of my of the final scene of the movie, Booster ripping some off-brand soda company patch off his jacket, after a great battle in which he finally learned "what it means to be a hero" - only for him to slap on a Coca Cola patch as the camera pans back to show him on top of a digital billboard of himself drinking coke and giving a thumbs up, with his final line of the movie "big leagues".
