They got the Flash's cowl design right, but the rest of his suit looks very low budget (like home-made) maybe that is intentional.

Even though Smallville had a lower budget then Arrow (Both CW shows), Booster Gold's suit in Smallville looked more expensive !

That BG suit looks leagues ahead of the Flash's suit.

Seriously, how awesome would that be? The best part is you could pay for the whole damn thing with product placement and it wouldn't be remotely out of place!

I just can't get the image out of my of the final scene of the movie, Booster ripping some off-brand soda company patch off his jacket, after a great battle in which he finally learned "what it means to be a hero" - only for him to slap on a Coca Cola patch as the camera pans back to show him on top of a digital billboard of himself drinking coke and giving a thumbs up, with his final line of the movie "big leagues".​

I'm completely aware of the intended humor or whatever by having Booster Gold look like a NASCAR driver. I got all that. I just felt like I had to say it because he really really looks like one here. Even the haircut. Lol. I was totally aware of the connotations though because I know how the character is.

And incidentally I do like the BG suit better than the new Flash tv show suit so far. They need to fix that damn symbol on his chest so it has the white background and the lightning is the same length on both ends, fix the ****ing ear pieces so they look like fins and not his chest logo just stuck to the sides of his head, and get rid of that belt and give him the waist and forearm lightning trim. The rest I can deal with. I'd be 1000 times happier if they did that. There's no reason not to do it that way.

I actually don't mind the earpieces being bolts. In fact, I kinda like that particular design choice. I completely agree with everything else you said, but all in all, it's much better than I was expecting. I just don't understand how you nail the cowl but **** up the easy stuff.

Beats me. And about the ear pieces, if they're going to be "bolts", at least make them two pronged (the exact opposite of how the chest symbol should be (should be three pronged)), and make the top part longer. Looking identical to the chest logo is the thing that REALLY pisses me off.

Whedons Quicksilver is going to have a hard time even shining the boots of the DOFP Quicksilver. His stuff in DOFP is mind blowing. the character, the attitude, the look and power display will be hard to even match. Unless they copy bryan singer directly, and that would go over so well!

Im so much more interested in what Whedon has up his sleeve now. With that said, Flash would blow any other speedster out of the water. Its a REAL shame he stuck on TV. I can't stand it.

Here's a new look at his costume, I can't say I'm the biggest fan. Maybe ill come around tho.

@TWayne - From the TV spot DoFP's quicksilver was awesome, the way they handled the super speed is just incredible. I do see a challenge in coming up with something different but if someone can do it it's Whedon. Even if it isn't as awesome as Evans' portrayal it will still be great.

I quite like the suit. Try to remember, this is a star labs made suit thats more for practical purposes to begin with. It wouldn't surprise me that towards the end of the series, Barry puts more flare into it

Yeah i gotta agree. There were some unflattering unofficial shots taken of the suit that made it look ******, but it looks great on film.

Anyone catch the left background when Vibe shows Barry the suit? The color looks more than familiar..

The trailer actually gave me hope that we'll eventually see a complete new suit a few seasons down the line. The current one has been created by Vibe. I think Barry would eventually create a new suit on his own.

I think I see why the suit is darker now.

Some of the speed effects, because they are so bright, for lack of a better term...look kind of cartoony. They probably wanted to minimize that effect in motion...hence the darker suit VS a brighter red.

The guys doing Flash/Arrow are pretty receptive to fan feedback.

Perhaps the reason the cowl was lighter in the official poster was because of some of the negative reaction to the darker red in the first released image.

Obviously they can't change what they've already shot for the pilot, but I wouldn't be surprised if they change up the suit later on (if not right away for when they shoot the second episode)

I highly doubt they lightened it in the poster because of fan feedback. It's just common sense to make your marketing materials pop as much as possible without betraying what is actually in the final product. Very few are gonna see that image of the Flash, then watch the show and go "HUH?!?! That's so not the shade of red I tuned in for." The "negative reaction" probably amounts to a small whisper amidst the roar of excitement for the series.
I'm sure the suit will evolve because that's nature of a serialized story, but it won't be because the comic readers want it. It'll be because it was planned by the showrunners. People on forums hold much less sway than they give themselves credit for.

Does the Arrow suit get this much strife? It looks nothing like the comics outside of a green suit with a hood and a mask. Flash's suit is even more accurate to the comics than his! I love that though. I love that they aren't stitch for stitch re-creations of comic drawings and they fit great in the world that was built for them to exist in.

Did you watch the trailer? It's missing the emblem when it's given to him. It's apparently a later addition at some point during the pilot.
