I still am flabbergasted that the emblem has a red background. I wonder what it was about the white they couldn't get behind?

Just ask one of the companies that manufactures the sports suits to make one in RED color with some texture, that way it will be made free of cost as the companies could have some free advertising, and it will ensure good quality.

They already have cowl.

I think that's partially part of the problem. A standard spandex unitard might make the cowl extremely clunky. If they started off with the cowl and designed the costume around it, they might "have to" have a more substantial costume such as the one we are seeing now. As it is, I am impressed at how they incorporate the cowl with the costume. Hence the jacket. Also how do they do the 3D chest logo on a spandex like material?

I hope the suit evolves and they figure out how to do it better.

Use a muscle suit underneath the spandex like form-fitting costume.

This will make cowl and the suit look like same thick material.

Nope...that was exactly my point. Arrow does not = Flash. The costume designer seems to have missed that. This seems like a lazy attempt from the Arrow costume designer to do Flash... almost like they just took the Arrow designs, drew a Flash mask on them and colored it burgundy - the concepts are so similar.

From a storytelling point of view, this costume makes sense. He's using a hero of his as his inspiration to be a vigiliante, so it's natural that it would be a suit design similar to Ollie's. Who knows, maybe over the course of the series he'll realize there are more advantageous designs for him.

But I bet the suit looks pretty awesome in context of the show, not just some set pics. The cowl is close to flawless in design and texture, and we'll mainly be seeing him from the waist/chest up.

They probably want the lightning bolt to pop more. Yellow is more apparent next to red than white.

I didnt think of it that way. My opinion was just that they wanted to use the yellow on red as the show's logo.

that logo still sucks tho. The bottom of the bolt should be longer and the circle needs to be white. They messed that up no doubt.

Actually no the problem was the material and the loose fit

The problem is it's really really cheap and unprofessional looking sans the cowl. The colors are all wrong for no apparent reason. The white emblem showed up fine 20 years ago on the spandex muscle suit flash on TV, so I can't imagine why technology has regressed in this area for that not to be the case today.

It doesn't look too unprofessional by any means. It looks a bit cheap, which technically works for a young Flash just starting out.

The suit will evolve over the course of the series, probably even over the course of the first season. I also think a lot of poeple's opinions will change once we see footage and more official pics.

tbh, i don't think the costumes in Batman and Robin were that bad, aside from the nipples.


But yeah, this definitely isn't the best DC character costume. Definitely not.
