Nah, I just don't think it looks good. But thanks for telling me my opinion random internet tough guy.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the idea that Gustin's Flash costume is somehow "loose" or "baggy".

Why are you so defensive? Your inferiority complex is bringing me down, man. When did I ever try to be an "internet tough guy"?

You guys really just want spandex on all of your superheroes, it's all very homoerotic.

This is the Hype. If it isn't form-fitting/painted on the ****ing skin, it's as baggy an XXL hoodie. :o

I really don't understand people's obsession with skin-tight costumes. In reality, they mostly look doofy and impractical. If it some kind of weird sex thing?

I don't think anyone wants to see "spandex", we just want superheroes to look like friggin' superheroes. Why's that so much to ask?

Superheroes don't look like superheroes if their costumes aren't skin tight?

In live action, skin tight costumes almost always look terrible. Spider-Man is really the only exception, and that's just a testament to the costume's design. Why is it so important?

Dude's wearing a costume with a mask. How does he not look like a superhero?

Don't question him, Question, KS is OBVIOUSLY the only one who actually cares about The Flash here. :o

Im fine with the costume we got, but I actually agree with Kevin Smith. The Flash's costume, like Spider-Man's costume, translates well with the skin tight costume if they use the right materials.

I disagree. Spider-Man looks good in skintight because of the acrobatics. It would look silly on a guy running, though.

Depends on the material and design. Take a speedsuit, give it the New 52 Flash design, and I don't see how anything about that would look silly.

I think speed suits look kind of silly, to be honest. They're useful, but not very fashionable.

Speedsuits for sprinters and speed skaters look fine and suit their purpose. I dont get the attitudes here like its unreasonable for someone to like that or that its homoerotic. Its a preference and thats all it is.

Spider-Man looks good in that material because he is wearing a full mask. Flash's cowl is fantastic and since the camera is going to be on his face a lot it makes sense.

Some of the **** that's been said in this thread is truly eye roll worthy.

To the tight speed-suit enthusiasts, are you all aware of the visible bouncing flab that would occur while running?

No matter how lean a runner is, there is always a visible amount of bounce due to the impacts generated from running.

Tight speed suits just make the bouncy flab even more visible.

Why does everything have to be spandex and 100% lifted from the page? I'll tell you why. It's because you see these characters as yours, and as soon as someone tries to put their own stamp on it (you know, as is their right) there's uproar. The Flash is already the fastest thing on the planet, I doubt slightly baggy clothes is going to affect his top speed.

OK, by that argument why have a suit at all, I'm pretty sure Flash will still be pretty fast in a pair of Dockers, polo shirt and some topsiders. He can vibrate fast enough constantly to never be photographed or recognized. there is no logical need for a suit at all, but we all want to see him in one. you know why that is?.... BECAUSE ITS A FREAKING COMIC BOOK CHARACTER!

Why again are you in here?

chances are they won't have the sac-cam on Flashy jewels during the show sooooo yeaaahhhh.....

And seeing as this films in mother****ing Vancouver, of all places, I think we can all understand why that would be no good for the actor.

We've got the costume we've got. It's FAR from bad. Get over it. :o

Not necessarily "skin tight" where you can see every sinew and seem on their body, but more form fitting and not loose or baggy. And colorful is key, bold looking, like the icons many of them are, like flags. As in not ashamed of being what they are - superheroes. Embracing the genre with open arms and a big hug and not just saying you're going to embrace it and give it a hug just so you can strip the underwear off the suit while your arms are behind the character's back during your faux hug.

The Flash's costume is arguably second only to Spider-Man's in its design - the FF looked good in their form fitting suits, Spider-Man looked terrific, Christipher Reeve even pulled off the tights look back in the day, and before you go saying how silly the 70s were, that era was just as jaded as any since and the movie came out in a time where superheroes were not taken seriously and there'd been an overall drought in heroes and positive, adventure figures in media - the movie flew in the face of conventional wisdom in many ways. I'm not calling for any character to be in a Reeve like tighty tights costume, but I'm saying if they could do that in '78 then they can certainly be more faithful to the looks of the characters than some people in these threads are advocating.

There have been much better adaptations as far as costumes go. The Flash really isn't that hard to do. How they continue to screw him up is beyond me. All the new suit is is just someone putting their "artistic" stamp on it "just cuz". Sure, it looks like a superhero....a little bit. Like some sort of weird pseudo steam-punk cosplay, .....but The Flash? Not really. It has a long way to go before it is that. THIS suit in the tv show (and yeah, I know it's just "set pics") looks damn goofy in its design.
