Just finished watching the new Justice League animated movie and I feel like I have whiplash from how awesome it was! I could write a novel about my thoughts about the movie but instead it brought up some interesting points as to what WB could be looking at for the future JL live action movie. Some of these may come across as obvious, but I think these things are solidified as far as "happening" if this movie will ever be made.

1) Cyborg will be included as a founding member of the League. I know the popular opinion here is that he belongs with the TT and now the JL as far as founders go, but with all of the marketing and stuff that goes into Justice League that includes him as well as his prominent role in the comic and now this animated movie version of the team, it's probably a safe bet that he'll be included in the movie as well. Now it's a matter of how they will integrate him. For me, it doesn't really matter as long as they make HIM matter. I liked his role in JL:TFP and thought he was likable and interesting enough to warrant being in the film. I didn't read the comic so I wouldn't know if he was even a part of it in reality, but if he wasn't they sure convinced me he could have been. If the JL movie includes him as a member of the team, I will no longer cast negative judgement at the notion. I'm actually curious to see what they'll do with him and more importantly who he'll be cast as.

2) The movie will most likely be pretty dark. Between Justice League and Avengers, I'd say JL has always been the more kid-friendly team. Maybe it's just because of the prominent cartoons that have been associated with them or their pop culture position where people of every age could tell you who they are, but I feel like the JL is seen as more of a kiddy team than the Avengers (who seem to be remolding its image to be closer to the younger side a bit). In any case, I was shocked to see how dark JL:FTP was and how graphic of violence it had. Maybe it's just because I didn't read the comic (I really want to now) but I'd say it was the most violent DC animated movie yet and I've seen them all. It's not even the violence but the story content and dialogue. It dealt with some pretty heavy stuff. I feel like the more serious direction of the live action movies is pointing toward turning the image of the Justice League closer to that of Nolan Batman rather than Whedon's Avengers. I wouldn't call MOS a dark movie but it doesn't disagree. I'm sure we can expect to see some stuff that ACTUALLY warrant a PG-13 rating.

3) Flash may be more important than we think. I know they seem to be dragging their feet with getting this guy a movie, but I'm thinking that WB is eyeing Flash to be their next guinea pig for hero stardom. GL was a flop for sure, but I wouldn't say WB has given up the fight to get someone without an S or a bat on their chest to be a big screen hit. Since REAL momentum seems to be picking up with this new Flash TV series and the mighty tempting 2016 movie rumor, it seems that WB may be prioritizing Flash over Wonder Woman to move forward with expanding the live-action media universe. WW has had a show shot down before beginning twice now and hasn't had a peep about a movie in who knows how long. It's definitely between the two of them as far as who will be joining the party next in the DC live action pantheon, so I'd say get ready for some speedy scarlet on the screen shortly. I don't blame them - I think Barry, Bart, Wally, and even Jay are ALL great characters who have potential to be as big or bigger than Iron Man if packaged the right way so they really should be throwing all of their effort into getting one or all of these guys out there. If the JL movie centers around Flash in some way, even better! Just as long as it doesn't take away from the idea that this is a team of the Earth's greatest super heroes who all inhabit the same world.

That's all I've got I guess, but seriously - JL:TFP was great and I highly recommend it to anyone who was on the fence. Very well done. Makes me hyped for the next animated series after TT:Go and Beware the $$$Batman$$$ have had their day.
