TDTESS wasn't terrible...Just lacking. Had they given it the full blockbuster treatment they might have had a big hit, even if the movie was still underwhelming. Too bad for Connelly, I really like her, but I suppose she only did this one strictly for the money (Or the message, regardless of the quality of the message's transmission).

Fox has lost it for this year. Horton and the Kutcher movie were hits, but that's all. And Kutcher didn't bring in $100 million.

Their prestige picture for the year, Australia, bombed. Their winter tentpole blockbuster is a big disappointment.

What do they have for next year? Not much until Wolverine. Fox will desperately be relying on Night at The Museum 2 and Wolverine so salvage the year for them.

Oh, God... a Family Guy movie?! Thats going to be, like, 85 minutes of needless pop culture references and 15 minutes of actual story.

I love family guy but, I totally agree with you. It's unnecessary and there's no way I'm spending 12 bucks to see that in the theater. Anyway we already got a family guy star wars parody film.

Let's not forget that Fox's fall movies also did lousy. City of Ember bombed and Max Payne struggled to make it's money back domestically. However, Fox does have Marley and Me coming out on christmas day. That film will solve all their financially problems for the year.:oldrazz:

Tom Rothman = EPIC FAIL AT LIFE

god damn this guys a *****ebag

everytime i hear about him i just wanna knock some sense into this jackass, for all the films/directors/movie fans he's screwed over with crappy, watered down and quite frankly neutered films

''although it is a strength to turn the other cheek Sometimes you've gotta look evil right in the face and spit in its eye''

The only time Rothman comes off as a cool guy is in the documentary "Boffo" about films that floped and popped at the box office.

(Great flick btw check it out if you can)

Apparently Fox might getting their grubby paws on Narnia as well now that Disney let it go.

I doubt that. The news was just released not too long ago. I'm thinking it's going to WB.

Walden has a strong relationship with the C.S. Lewis estate and will shop "Treader" in hopes of finding a new partner. The most likely candidate at this stage is Fox, which markets and distributes Walden fare under the Fox Walden banner.

Any partnership on a "Narnia" movie will require a substantial investment, however. "Caspian," which filmed in the Czech Republic, Mexico and New Zealand, cost $200 million. The first film, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," was shot mostly in New Zealand for $180 million.

I'm not really surprised The Day The Earth Stood Stil flopped. It didn't look all that great.

This HAS to be ressurected after the following news......

Fox to Seek Order Delaying Watchmen Release

An attorney for 20th Century Fox says the studio will continue to seek an order delaying the release of Watchmen, according to The Associated Press.

U.S. District Court Judge Gary Feess last week agreed with Fox that Warner Bros. had infringed its copyright by developing and shooting the film, scheduled for release March 6.

Feess said Monday he plans to hold a trial Jan. 20 to decide remaining issues.

Fox claims it never fully relinquished story rights from its deal made in the late 1980s, and sued Warner Bros. in February. Warner Bros. contended Fox isn't entitled to distribution.

Warner Bros.' attorney said Monday he didn't know if an appeal was coming, but thinks a trial is necessary and a settlement unlikely.

Dear god.........

He wants to release it n the summer to make more cash. Sick punk...the more you delay the more we freak.

WB needs to put a smile on Rothman's face.:hoboj:

I just want to see the movie when its planned to come out in March. That's all. Don't change that. All March has is that and March Madness hoops.

at first, i thought it was all talk but no action

But now, I'm thinking otherwise, and I'm very frustrated at the Watchmen situation.

now that they have their claws on Watchmen they'll probably want to cut it down to 90 minutes, PG-13, with a june- july release...
then they'll release an extended cut on dvd (which is extended by like 20 minutes and not the real full cut, just to piss the talent who were really behind the film off.) The Dvd will be way overpriced, with an even well over priced Blu-ray .

F*** You Very Much! Can't wait!! :)

I don't think Fox will touch Watchmen.

The sole fact being that they were not involve with the production at all, and they don't have that right. Then again, I've been wrong before.

I wonder how far the distribution rights really give them. Maybe the only own the movement of the movie and merchandising instead of the development of the film.

I'll go out my way to defend movies like FF and X-men 3, biut I really do think the people at Fox need to pull their head out of their butts and start making good movies, instead of wasting time suing another studio.

Hence why I think Warner Bros. will end up jumping for this franchise.

Fantasy films under 20th Century Fox like The Seeker, City of Ember, and Eragon fared rather poorly and under Tom Rothman, 20th Century Fox is not the type of studio that puts in any substantial investment in their films unless it's a James Cameron movie.

Fantasy films under Warner Bros and New Line Cinema on the other hand like Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, and the Golden Compass (if New Line didn't sell the international rights) have been very successful, and they're the type of studio that is willing to make a high budget film and not make it look like a cheap piece of crap. And with only two films left for all of those series, they're going to want a new fantasy franchise which can deliver them five more films.

And with a financing partner like Legendary Pictures, Warner Bros. can easily afford it as well and the budget can go beyond the $140 million that Walden Media wanted.

Screwing with Watchmen

Add that to the ''Crimes'' this son of a B**** has committed

You can put that on Snyder's record also.

Congratulations. That's the stupidest statement I've heard all month.

I would say year, but... you know... Sarah Palin.

I also have to say your distubing picture of Barney throwing up multi-colored vomit.
