to be honest, X1 and X2 have their following and they did provide some relevance to the comic book movie genre. and you cannot deny that, even if you don't like 'em.

I won't deny them that. I just don't think they're the best example of what the genre can provide.

I give the studio and Singer credit for following the prejudice part of the comicbooks eventhough everything else was handled so poorly.

This.

X2 is still the best Marvel film ever made.

You do have admire Singer though. He was able to make the type of films he wanted to make, under one of the most difficult studios to work for. You don't see too many other directors stand up to Fox or Rothman like he did.

*Cough* Ironman *Cough*, also X2 is an overrated pile of ****.

well, that's all subjective isnt' it?

I think Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2 are my favs, while Iron Man is up there too.

IMO, X1 and X2 are billion times better than the ******* piece of **** that that came after Bryan Singer left.

I do love X1, but I still think it has a really, really, really weak plot. Well, Magneto's plot anyway. I mean, how the hell can a guy who controls metal somehow use his powers to turn humans into mutants? Even in a fantasy film that is pushing it.

And the action isn't very good either apart from Wolverine and Sabretooths fights.

I would have X2 at the top, then X1 and Wolverine about even, with X3 in last.

Iron Man is NOT overrated for God's sakes. Neither is X2. None of this "what if the actor's were replace by.." works because it's all "what ifs".

No it's not. Iron Man is the overrated one. Replace the entire cast with less charismatic actors and the movie becomes quite generic.

And replace Robert De Niro with Ben Affleck in Taxi Driver and it'd probably suck.

What's your point?

Iron Man was a damn fun movie which reminds why I love movies in the first place.

That the actors made the movie work  It's nice that they had RDJ, so he could ad lib the entire script...Wich was fairly standard in the first place.

which is fine. The first movie in a series should always be basic and simple without being too stupid.

Yes. I love Iron Man don't get me wrong. But I don't think it's a "great movie" like a lot of fanboys would have you believe.

I love Iron Man, mainly because of the performances of RDJ and Bridges. Without them it would be good, with them it's great.

IM is IMO the definition of a good summerblockbuster.

Thats funny that you call X2 an overrated piece of ****, and then say Iron Man was the best...

That's why I love Iron Man. It proved that you don't have to get to dark, edgy, or depressing to be a great film.

I mean X2 had got dark and depressing and the Spiderman films often just got depressing. Iron Man was pretty much the perfect film to counter The Dark Knight.

I don't know what would've happened to comic book films if Iron Man had never been released in theaters and it was only The Dark Knight.

I haven't seen Iron Man since it was released and thought it was good. Not great, good. To be honest, I've never been a big fan of Iron Man.

The universe would implode.

No really, you think things would look that much different?

There would probably be even more people saying that comic book movies have to be dark and serious in order to be good or successful.
