The Full List of "Crimes" Committed by Fox's Tom Rothman

Well to be fair I thought Daredevil DC was pretty decent, very decent in fact. But obviously that was from no help from Rothman.

Yes the DC cut was better. But the ironic thing is that if Fox had left well enough alone and released it as the theatrical version then most would have a higher regard for the DD movie. Chris Nolan was allowed to expand his vision and deliver a classic like TDK. The creators on DD were forced to hack their film and then spin off a poorly written Elektra movie.

Yea, if the DC was the theatrical version then they would of gained a lot of praise I reckon. And maybe this whole Fox bashing wouldn't be as bad as it is now. So basically, they brought it on themselves.

i just think compared to a movie like ghost rider or elektra its not so bad.

Only because unlike those films, theres actually a "good version" of DD out there. :woot:

FOX seems to be notorious for calling on filmmakers to cut footage from their films that SHOULD be in the film to enhance the story and character development. Critics ragged on DD for not having a solid enough story, and that's because most of the story elements (all of which were especially relevant) were removed! And so much goes on in some of those scenes without taking up that much time.

was the visual effects better in the director's cut. I just remembered how bad the church scene was, with the awful CGI.

No, but the whole thing about the Director's Cut is that it shows you more of Matt as a lawyer, and as a detective. He's investigating a murder, and there's a more logical path that leads him to the Kingpin. It also fixes the order of events, which gets screwed up in the theatrical version. It's a lot to explain in detail, but it really feels like you're watching a whole different movie when you watch the Director's Cut. It's a more cohesive film from a story standpoint.

I still don't think that the DC can fix what I didn't like so I'll pass on watching it...for now.

I'm not so sure. I'm probably gonna catch s#!% for this, but I don't believe the DD movie would've been as well regarded if the director's cut had been the version released in theaters.

The DC is a far better movie, though it still carries a lot of the same problems the theatrical cut has. Without the "studio-approved cut" to compare it to, I suspect the film's shortcomings would be even more apparent.

So in a twisted roundabout way, Rothman and the studio's machinations turned what would've been a mediocre movie into an underdog.

Add Wolverine to the list! Although most of us already knew this would happen a while back:o

Yeah, I think Wolverine could do really well.

But that Rothman interview, my God, my eyes were bleeding. That man is full of lies I tell you. He said stay after the credits for another hint.

The hint will be:

"Yeah, we know this film sucked, but we got your money anyway!"

will not argue with that.

True but, there's very few positive things I can say about DD. The only thing I liked about it was Bullseye. His scenes were great. Everything else about the movie bored me. Afleck and Garner's acting was terrible. I didn't like any of the action sequences either.

Watching Elektra was one of the most unbearable film experiences I've ever had. I was bored out of my mind after the first 10 minutes. The one and only positive thing I can say about Ghost Rider was the effects were good.

make a good daredevil movie and noone will complain that they have the rights.

I don't see how they can keep the Daredevil rights at this point. It's been over 4 years since Elektra came out. The rights should be back at Marvel.

Elektra was better then Daredevil.
I agree. It might be because of my undying love for Jennifer Garner, I think that she is a good actress (Although she didn't get to show any of her chops in the flick) and a better lead than her hubby. It's too bad the movie and Elektra character were poorly written. Don't get me wrong I don't think that Elektra was a good movie in any way but I can stomach it more than Dare Devil.

MSJ is the worst director not named Uwe Boll. GhostRider was a travesty of cinema and actually did make DD look decent. So I'll give him that.

That's why they're developing the DD reboot... They don't wanna lose the rights. Some guy from Marvel adressed this and they're not happy.

It's sad that there will still be chumps out there that not only tell others to give Fox another chance but actually blindly defend them when the only reason they want to pump out a Daredevil reboot is just so they won't lose the rights.

I know Daredevil fans will give me hell for this but I don't think the character is popular enough with the mainstream to deserve a reboot this soon. Give it a few more years, and I'm not just saying that because I want the rights to go back to Marvel.
