Well, IMO, it was pretty darn good. Gripping, engaging, & intense, quite a nice lil' thrill ride, actually - I REALLY liked it! I've seen it several times now, and it gets better with every watch:

The pacing, onscreen chemistry, staging, & story beats, were all on point, I thought. Everything just... clicks, and I can't wait to see more.

Anyways, I liked the opening. It seems solid and works within the show's constraints. The banter was good, feels like it's been awhile since we've seen some of that in a more traditional X-Men show.

Is it odd that this reminds me of a slightly mature version of XMen TAS? I just get vibes based on the humor and intense scenes.

I think it might be good to go into this the way I did with Inhumans. Don't expect anything from it, but also put everything you've heard aside. If you let it speak for itself, maybe you'll find something in there that you'll like.

It had its moments. The stuff on the moon did at least. There was only one scene on earth that I really liked, but the moon stuff did show some potential to me. Also, Crystal really grinded my gears, but the rest of the cast did surprisingly well with what they got to work with.
