I have completely abandoned my aversion to a (at least semi) comedic Lex at the prospect of Howerton in the role.
Credit where it’s due: they were pretty creative with Eisenberg’s wardrobe.Something I really hope is that Gunn and co. will be more creative with Lex’s wardrobe.
The man is far too much of a narcissist to wear nothing but basic suits, he’s the best dressed man in the room and he knows it.
Yeah we’re rewatching smallville and I kind of love the angle where he’s always thinking of the Roman Empire and comparing himself to Alexander the Great etc
And I also like when Lex has a bit of an impostor syndrome as well, he’s quite sensitive about his humble origins.I think the narcissism and ego has to shine through for Lex. It's not enough that he's just a successful businessman, or incredibly rich. Hackman's Lex for example just wanted to make lots of money off land, and Superman was just an obstacle in his way. I like the idea of a modern Lex who wants to make his mark in history just as Emperors did centuries ago, and he sees himself capable of becoming one of the few people on the planet who can effect global change like that - until Superman appears and completely moves the goalposts. This is what threatens him most, the risk to his own legacy.
Lol. This description makes me imagine a Lex who would go all Ric Flair on somebody like Simon Stagg and rail about his “$6000 custom made lizard skin shoes”.Imo Lex would wear 20k suits with a 80k watch on his wrist.
He should be the ultimate snob.
true I make a pretty decent salary, but my druthers is to dine on a $1.50 Costco hotdog and fountain drink combo. (But I have to eat it there because I want to get at least 3 free refills.)I have a friend who is a millionaire, but even he acts relatively normal as he realises nowadays you can blow through a couple of million relatively easily if you're not sensible, it's not an endless amount of money.
I think it's when you get into Elon-Musk type billionaire status - the 0.01% - that you probably lose all sense of proportion and realise you can effectively buy any life experience you want. I mean...

Well we know how Gunn probably feels about itI don't hate the idea. He'd be on the shorter side though. Not sure how people would feel about that.
