The Healthy Hypesters Challenge

MW, just keep telling yourself you love the Pain. In the Marine Corps, we said, "Pain is Weakness Leaving the Body". Just love that feeling, because it means you did something.

 Thanks, I really like that!

I only went to the gym 4 times this week, you guys. :(

Why the sad face, 4 days at the gym is really good.

the entire month of february, i promised to "give up" french fries if my friend quit smoking. sadly, she hasn't kept her end of the bargain, but I have

i'm actually thinking of carrying his over into March too. i've been keeping up with my water intake. I don't really see the weight i've lost but others are telling me that they are. i am going to have to buy some more jeans cuz none of em are really fitting me anymore

Well, if your old clothes aren't fitting, that's a sure sign you're losing weight, you may not see it only because you see yourself every day and the process is to small to notice day to day. Look at a picture from a couple months ago, then you'll probably see the weight loss.

Ran 13.3 miles Saturday with no problem besides normal soreness and being really tired. Felt really good also to look at my watch and realize I finished the run 25-30 minutes faster than the half marathon I ran a year and a half ago!

Damn, I gained 3.3 pounds because of Mardi Gras weekend. But I had a healthy day today and worked out pretty heavily for about an hour straight. 1/2 hour on the elipitocal (sp) and about 15 min. on the bike. I'm hoping to have a good week and get back to where I was. Apparently my target weight, according to Wii, is 165 lbs. which seems impossible. I havent weighed that since mid-grade school.

Mine is 116. Haven't seen that since junior high. :p

If I was at my optimum BMI I'd look anorexic. :(

i try not to pay attention to the BMI ratings. if you put some pro wrestlers in there, for example, it says that thy are morbidly obese, and you can look at them and tell that's clearly not the case

because my goal is listed at 5 days.

if you feel like you'd be more comfortable, and that it'd be more feasible for you to aim for 4 days a week, i can change it. if you feel like 4 days a week is much easier for you to do than 5, it may help you stay on track more. don't get discouraged for missing day 5.

I think it's probably healthier to only work out 4 days instead of 5. You need those days off to just relax and rest up. Especially if you're going to the gym all those days, gonna get sick of it and burned out sooner. Maybe spend one or two of those days just doing some healthy activities, running outside, riding a bike. Do you take any classes at the gym? If you don't that could help to, start doing a yoga or aerobics class or something.

No it's fine... leave it at 5. I had a set back last week. I.E. Work kicked my ass.

I can do it. I used to go 7 days a week. But i lost my gym buddy... and then my motivation to go.

i hope you can find your motivation again

bumping this!

How are we all doing on our goals?

I'm doing really well with my water intake. I also went the entire month of February without eating french fries. I know it doesn't seem like a big deal, but I was a side goal I set for myself so I'm proud of accomplishing it.

Best of all, crystal light is on sale for like 2 bucks a box at work so i'm stocking up

I've sort of completed my goal. I can pass the test I was trying to be able to as of now... Now I just sort of have to take the test.

Ran 16 miles last Saturday in a freezing rainstorm, more confident than ever that I'll be able to finish the marathon in less than two months. However, this week I am going to kind of slack off, going to Vegas for a friends birthday this weekend, which will make me miss the group run on Saturday. Gonna try to get a good long run in when I get back Sunday or Monday after work and be back on track next week.

Did just register with a Charity Team for the Chicago Marathon, gonna raise money for diabetes research as part of my summer marathon training.

I'm on day 43 with out a Cigarette, and i've lost 18 pounds and have hit my weight goal. Now, I just need to get off my ass and actually start working out.

I'd like to join this thread...I just recently joined the gym and I love it. Weights are just the best.

I'm aiming to go 4-5 times a week. 5 might be hard to achieve because I'm really lazy. I can bring my lap top to the gym, right? :D heh I keed, I keed.

Still eating healthier than ever. I went grocery shopping yesterday and my groceries mostly consisted of yogurt, fruits, vegetables, cereal, oatmeal and lunch meats. I only drink water and juices now. Like a few weeks ago on my cheat day I had pizza and I decided to get a glass of soda along with my pizza. Turns out once I took a sip...I no longer had a taste for it. That's pretty good, right? A friend came to visit me this past weekend and she saw how much I've toned down (I've lost 12 pounds since I've started) and said that I look "so good". It was flattering. I just need to establish an exercise routine and I'll be set.

At meals, before you chow down, drink a tall glass of water. It'll help you manage overeating and will fill you up quicker. Also drink water throughout your meals. They say sometimes when you think you have a craving, often your body is really just thirsty.

I'm in a similar boat. I don't really drink soda anymore, and when I do it's diet now. But that is rare. I'm glad you are still going strong.

Glad to hear you quit the cigs. It'll be great for you in the long run. :yay:

I keep gradually losing weight. As long as i dont have too many bad days I'm still good. I work out nearly everyday and I think simple fact that I have any physical activity really helps.

glad to hear so many are doing well in this!

i found an old pair of jeans i haven't worn in like 2 years today and tried em on. Perfect fit! so i've dropped a jeans size at least

Mdizzle i've added you to the list

I don't really know why but I am still loosing weight (according to the scale), but I feel fatter. It's weird.
