The Healthy Hypesters Challenge

I haven't had a cigarette since Tuesday. I've replaced it with eating celery, chewing gum, and/or counting to 10 and then drinking a glass of water.

Thats what I do, I drink cold water, or get some gum.

Or a cigar :cwink:

Beer is bad for the belly, no?

No more than any other High Calorie Drink. A Pepsi has twice as much Calories as a Guiness.

I'm fairly certain he's not drinking soda, either.

I'm all for it! I'd like to lose 50lbs this year.. so far i've lost 6 which i'm not to upset about but i've still a long way to go.

Okay, I've got the bike and made the total 7.5 mile trek to and from school today. It's gonna take me a while to get the hang of this. I've been out of exercise for a while, and the altitude difference is kicking my ass.

Hey, I'm working on one week and 3 days. You'll get there. If I can do it, so can you.

congrats on that, i'm trying to get one of my friends to quit smoking. i told her that if she gave it up for a month, i'd give up something as well and if we caught the other cheating, they gotta pay $20.

Since New Years I've lost 12 lbs and am now at a slender 157 lbs.

I stopped drinking, eatting fatty foods and watching my calorie intake. It's tough but it's working.

that's great. i'm starting to do the same and i'm rebuilding my stamina after being on bedrest and lack of serious activity, i feel like i need to regain some strength

i'm glad you've started. good job

i've started doing small things to regain strength. i'm doing a minimum of 10 lunges a day and have been lifting mini weights. i've still got some stitches so i'm trying not to tear anything but the doctor said i'm healing well. also, worked kicked my butt day one, but i did much better today

I'll take part in this...by 2010, I'd like to get back in the shape I was in at 19 when I was at height of my boxing "career," and maybe even spar someone over in Youngstown or Pittsburgh.

I wanna get to 128 lbs and keep it, so about a 5 pound loss for me. :)

You guys are welcome to come to the fitness thread if you want more motivation, advice, etc etc.

Fitday has really been helping me when I'm tempted to eat something fatty, because I know that if I do I have to input it and see it on the pie chart :csad:

I don't chart though maybe I should. If I wrote down all the crap I ate I'd probably be disgusted with myself and finally stop eating it. :p

I had two days of eating home stuff, then broke down on the fast food while I was out. My will was weak :csad:

Me too. My husband is a liability. I'll be good and then he'll buy junk food and it's all over for me. Like I'm going to say no? He's skinny so he gets away with it. :(

When I get the chance, I'm going to upload my biweekly progress. I know what my goal is right now, and have it near my mirror to remind me to be good.

I'll fly up there and whoop you azz! :cmad:

I am on Week 2 with No Cigarette, and I'm down 11 pounds over the last 4 weeks and 4 days.

I smoked my last cigarette this morning. That puts me at about 8 hours smoke free. These have been the longest hours of my life.

Tomorrow I start intensive training.

I've had a pretty easy time stopping smoking Cigarettes. Like I said a couple of days ago, just drink cold water. I'm surprised how easy it has been, just stop buying them, the rest will follow suit.
