Infinity War The Heroes That Stand Before Thanos

My guesses for the line-ups:

Infinity War P1, will have the brand new team consisting of: Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch, Falcon, Ant-Man, Vision and perhaps Wasp. So the film isn't too packed I expect that The first four will be the A team, and the other 6 the B team.

Part 2 will have the original Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Hulk, Black Widow) sans Hawkeye who I think will be killed in AoU. Additionally Spiderman will also appear in this film (due to his popularity) and Captain Marvel. The Guardians of the Galaxy will also turn up, likely with a couple of extra members from GotG2 (Adam Warlock, Moondragon and Mantis).

I feel like Part 1 will have a totally different Avengers roster and Thanos will kill all the previous members within the first five minutes of the film.

Nick Fury -> Spider-Man who assembles the new team
Captain America -> Winter Soldier who dons Cap's duds
Iron Man ->War Machine who wears Tony's armor
Thor -> Doctor Strange who serves as the magic-wielding powerhouse
Hulk -> Luke Cage as the indestructible bruiser
Black Widow -> Mockingbird who's the secret agent member of the team
Hawkeye -> Falcon who serves as the ex-military guy in the Avengers
Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch -> Ant-Man and Wasp as the man and woman two-person team
Vision would still be around since he was the only one in Avengers tower who wasn't technically alive since he's a machine

So all but one Avenger is replaced by a similar counterpart.


And among the cosmic heroes, Adam Warlock, Drax and Gamora would all still play the same role they did in the comic but Star Lord would replace Silver Surfer and Rocket Raccoon would replace Pip the Troll with Groot and Phylla-Vell as additions.

Since Marvel doesn't own the rights to Doom, his role will probably be filled by Baron Zemo or Kingpin.

Infinity War Part 2 would bring back all the old Avengers + the new guys + new members Black Panther, Daredevil, Captain Marvel, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones while the Guardians would have Moondragon and Thanos added to the team. All of them together to fight the Magus.

Vision - Last active Avenger. Goes out recruiting everyone.
Hawkeye - Is in hiding after the events of Ultron and Civil War. Is visited by Vision but tells him they're outgunned and can't win. Joins later.
The Twins - As with Hawkeye are the first to be sought out by Vision and refuse as long as it's just them fighting. Join later.

^Both Hawkeye and the Twins' initial refusals lead to Vision seeking out the newbies with the help of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Stark profiles.

Spider-Man - One of the local heroes Vision takes notice of. First newbie recruited.
Doctor Strange - Has some connection to Thanos already and is worried.
Black Panther - Approached by Vision in Wakanda and heads to NY with him in preparation.
Captain Marvel - Most aware of the coming threat. Leads her to seeking out the newly formed Avengers on her own.
Ant-Man - Recruited by Spider-Man.

Forgot to add guys like Falcon, Bucky and Rhodey.

Falcon's situation would have him recruited like the others.

Bucky would-- as suggested by Dasher, don Cap's suit. I'd like a lot devoted to a scene with Vision or someone convincing him to do so.

Rhodey isn't War Machine anymore after [my speculation based on those yet-to never-be-confirmed information via LR] Stark's disappearance. Won't join.

That's all for Part I of course.


Part II would have Stark and Thor return with the Guardians-- all of whose adventures during Part I will be explored in the first half of Part II.

Cap... assuming his dead, will have some form of glorious resurrection in any act. Can't be bothered getting into that.

Bruce will be with the government maybe? Tony is guilty for getting him imprisoned before he disappeared and rescues him. Bruce doesn't forgive him but joins their defense for [dead] Cap.

Widow died in Civil War.

Extremely intelligent wisecracking young heroes have never made anything better in the history of TV or films.

Don't overthink it people.... The main four are obviously going to be in it; THEY define the MCU version of the Avengers. Taking them out will not be in Marvel's best interest.

I hope they take this opportunity (or Civil War) to introduce or at least cameo some more international heroes. I think it'd be a logical progression of the MCU to show that the arrival of the Avengers provoked the creation of similar groups across the world.

Just to underscore how big the threat is.

That's so unlikely I can't even imagine it. Female superhero films have had such an uphill battle getting made that it's taken the MCU to do even a single one.

During Infinity, Blackbolt's scream injured Thanos, but did not defeat him. Thanos didn't even have any of the infinity stones.

I can imagine a funny seen if Strange sends Thanos to another dimension but Thanos uses the Reality Stone to come back and everyone just sighs.

It depends. The unleashed power of Zarathos is one of the few things that could legitimately stand up to Thanos (sans Infinity Gauntlet) without being a cosmic-level power, but generally this would only happen if the Rider's mortal host is unconscious. And either way, Ghost Rider on that state of power is not really the kind of guy you'd call; he could take down Thanos but he would also probably kill everybody else as well.

But against regular Ghost Rider, Thanos would certainly win; the Penance Stare would work, but it wouldn't be sufficient to overcome his raw power. Especially with the Infinity Gems - the Stare would be nothing to him at that point.

That reminds me. There's a part of me that's tired of this "Captain Marvels character should be a strong female" thing. She shouldbe able to hold her own against Thanos sure. But I hope they don't make her seem nigh invincible to please the feminists.
