Trick R Treat is actually getting an official screening from Legendary and WB at the Egyptian theater on October 28. This film will stream on facebook simultaneously along with an question and answer with parts of the cast and the director.

Why all of this so long after the film was made?

hopefully it's in preparation for sequel.

I remember waiting for years for WB to release Trick R Treat, so I followed it for so long and finally they released it without a theatrical debut which is a shame because the film is fantastic and the best Halloween related film aside from Carpenter's Halloween IMO.

Just finished The Others, still as good a the first time I saw it. Nicole Kidman is excellent in it. Such a gret twist as we'll. 4/5

In an interview with Bloody Disgusting the director said that basically isn't even on the docket.

That's disappointing. It's one of my favorites of all time. I really wish it would. Get a sequel some day. It deserved so much better.

I know it's not truly "horror," but I am looking forward to watching Hocus Pocus some time soon.

I'd say they both count as horror, albeit light/comedy horror.

Also need to watch all the Ernest movies again at some point.

The main plot of Hocus Pocus involves stopping witching from feeding off the souls of small children. It qualifies I should think.

It's still treated lightly for the most part. There was that The Witches movie from the 80's that was similarly dark but was a children's movie.

You know what was pretty scary at the time? Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, mostly because it sets up how tired the characters are with living through the premise of the monsters always turning out to be fake only to be faced with the real thing.

Similarly there was a two part episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark in which one of the stories the kids told ended up coming true in their world. As a little kid back then that scared the crap out of me because I had basically accepted the kids telling the stories as real kids and the stories they told as fake.

I remember both fondly.

Those first 3 Scooby Doo films, Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, and Alien Invaders were all great because they advanced the characters. Cyber Chase, the fourth, was the last to use the older designs but didn't really take its plot as seriously as the other three films did. Witch's Ghost is my personal favorite as it had some fun music, and Tim Curry was awesomely evil.

Both Hocus Pocus and Earnest Scared Stupid are on my list every year.
And rightfully so.

I feel bad, I haven't watched a film since Sunday because of starting a second job. I gotta catch up, or I'm gonna run into my November marathon.

Damn I almost forgot that the conjuring blu-ray comes out next tuesday.

That will be a first day buy for me, its one of the best horror movies I've seen in a long time.

I watched The Conjuring on blu-ray for the first time last weekend as part of my marathon, I enjoyed it in many ways but didn't find it as great as most people made it to be, maybe just one of those cases where all the hype didn't pay off for me.

Taking a quick film watching break to watch the extras on the 35th Anniversary Halloween blu-ray, so far the Jamie Lee Curtis "The Night She Came Home" documentary was an ok watch, it's just her signing autographs and talking to fans the whole time.

See I saw it about 2 weeks early, pre-hype. It was great fun in a crowded theater.
