I really dislike the ending of Jacobs Ladder. Far less interesting than everything that came before it.

I'm the opposite, I really like the ending if Jacob's Ladder. Actually it's one of my favorite films. But to each their own!

Yes I have and I've read several of his books and seen movie adaptations.

Yeah I know, whoever made them could've added those two.

So I liked Curse of Chucky, although the flashback was weird. Made Charles come off even weirder. Only other thing was, what was with all the "there is no God" stuff? I mean this isn't a religious debate, but what with the existence of a soul, seems a weird thing for Chucky, unless he was just trying to break the little girl. Really odd to me.

Todays picks so far are Halloween III: Season of the Witch, 25 Years of Terror: Halloween Documentary and The Fog (1980). I guess it's a John Carpenter kind of day.

Sounds like a good day Dark Vengeance.

I just watched 'We Are What We Are' (2013) and it was incredible. The atmosphere, the acting and the ending. Holy ****. One of the best horror movies I've ever seen.

Oh man. I watched The Woman last year leadin up to Halloween. Yeah, it was really bad.

Nice gifs, but no Invisible Man or Wolf Man! :argh::argh:
A small company in the UK just asked to read my Invisible Man script. Fingers crossed.

Just got my blu ray of Hammers The Mummy. Its jaw droppingly great and Christopher Lee walking out of the mud is that much better than before.

I watched V/H/S 2 . I thought some of the segments were inventive and really cool . The end was terrible though. They put a camera on a dog but don't make it believable and the abduction is confusing.

I watched Friday the 13th Part 7 last night for the first time in 15+ years. I forgot Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie's) was in it, and also forgot how much they show mask-free Jason at the end. I really liked his face. It looked very "Evil Dead" to me.

I really like Jason's look in part 7. Especially how they show bone and he looks demonic.

JASON TAKES MANHATTAN is a guilty pleasure. They did a good job with most of the kills and the camera head roll is a great technique. I just don't understand why young Jason wasn't deformed. It was inconsistent with the series. Also that ending sucked. I wish it ended with a SWAT team taking him down similar to the beginning of Jason goes to hell.

Today I shall be watching Halloween III: Season of the Witch.

The marathon continues!

I watched Maniac (2012) last night. I really, really enjoyed it.

I watched Romero's Day of the Dead for the first time in about 8 years. I still really like it. Its not as easily enjoyable as Dawn but I like a lot of the ideas it plays with and I like the way characters bounce off of one another. There are some pretty great zombie effects too.

Also, Bub is the best.

Sidenote: There's a moment in the film where someone is talking about everything going to crap and mentions that "All of the shopping malls are closed." This is followed almost immediately by a replay of "I'm tired of your jokes old man."

I recommend Curse of the Demon. It's an older film, so you can likely find the whole thing on Youtube. The plot is great, as are the effects for the demon.

Love that movie. I used to have that Demon on a cover of Famous Monsters.

HEADS UP.... The Witches (creepy movie until the bad ending) and The Plague of the Zombies (voodoo zombies) comes on TCM this morning!!!!

Also Twins of Evil and The Vampire Lovers come on MGM IN HD on Halloween!!!!

The two on Halloween are insanely good. Hot chicks, vampires and some gore. Twins of Evil is right up there with The Mummy for me in terms of favorite Hammer movies.

Just watched +1 (2013) which is a pretty cool movie with an awesome concept that kept my attention locked, but ultimately is a bit under-baked.

First...this is a Sci-Fi film, not Horror (though it does have a few Horror elements and is a bit Twilight Zone-esque). It seems like the only place this is getting any attention is on Horror websites, so I'll discuss it here.

Here's the deal...David visits his girlfriend Jill at her fencing competition, but then allows himself to be kissed by the girl who just beat her in the tournament. Jill sees this and dumps him. David spends the rest of the film trying to win her back while insanity unfolds around him.

The first problem is that you're then supposed to sympathize with David and root for him as he tries to win back Jill...but I was on her side of the argument, and got even more so as the film progressed and his tactics get more manipulative and darker. However, he is never presented as anything but the sympathetic hero trying to win back his girlfriend.

So, there's this massive party. Both Jill and David are there, separately, and David brings his horny friend Teddy who just wants to get laid...and lucky him...his dream girl is there!

Then the concept kicks in. After most of the party moves outside, a meteor crashes. The lead characters realize that somehow, there are now doubles of everyone, doing exactly what they were doing 20 minutes ago! David uses the knowledge he has of the last several minutes to try to win back his girlfriend's duplicate. The stakes are raised as the two parties get closer to meeting face to face.

As I said, this movie is quite entertaining from start to finish. However, while David is unlikable, the film barely even touches on something far more interesting...social outcast Allison. She fits in nowhere and seems to identify with no one...and now she has an exact duplicate of herself. This story is glossed over in passing, and likely should have been the emotional center of the film. As presented, her character is not defined enough to leave an impact. The issue with the massive party possibly meeting up was also more interesting than creepy David, who mostly avoids the conflict to chase his duplicate girlfriend around. Unfortunately, the film focuses on his story and leaves the rest of the characters as background filler, though even with that they carry more emotional punch than his character. I would have rather have seen how the events impacted Teddy's dream girl (who appears to be deeper than just a party skank, but that isn't explored at all)...or any number of the other characters who get only a moment of screen time. OR, had they actually addressed David's scheming ways it could have been interesting.

I actually do recommend this movie, it is fun to watch. However, I came away feeling like there were a lot of missed opportunities to make a really great film. It COULD have been one of my favorite movies of the year, had they not made some rather stupid decisions on story elements. I still liked it, but feel like I was robbed of the emotion that the set-up promised.

Just watched the Tall Man, even though I was warned it was more thriller than horror I still had hope. But I was very disappointed and infact I found the whole thing quite ridiculous. I haven't been this disappointed since I saw the Village.
