The Horror Thread - Part 2

I would personally rather just see continuations...maybe in such a way where the other films weren't required viewing. Horror fans are the most loyal of any genre...so if a franchise connected at some point, it could be possible to make money off of it again. Lower budget direct to DVD/VOD films based on many of the old franchises should be profitable.

That worked with Chucky. We might see another one of those films before the other horror icons that are now dormant because of underperforming remakes.

Just watched Silent Night, Deadly Night. It was okay...a good handful of awesome moments strung between some real boring moments.

A question was asked...I answered...no mention was made that it had to be a worthwhile crossover.

I watched The Purge earlier and all it did was piss me off.

Nothing was really likeable about any of the characters, and whilst the concept was pretty cool it seemed rather dull just to constrain it to one location.
All I kept thinking was how big was their house that they could have all these people in it and not be able to find one another :funny:

Jason Blum can keep churning out these micro and low-budget horror movies like the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Dark Skies, The Purge and Sinister because the cost so little that they always make money.

Watched Trick r Treat for the first time in a few years the other night. Been trying to get my friend to watch it for a long time. I love that movie. It's bizarre that after all this time Legendary is hosting a screening for it this year.

Today I will be watching The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1949).

I watched that yesterday what a great nostalgic feeling that was, I forgot how good it is. I also watched Burton's 1999 Sleepy Hollow film which I've always enjoyed as well I'm debating on maybe checking out the new show but I'm pretty busy with the marathon and other shows I'm watching right now.

They need to make a Trick R' Treat sequel already with the same creative team. Sam is the only recent horror character I can see becoming the next icon of the genre. We need a new icon.

I think Sam can be a great icon I love the fearnet shorts with him, the Easter one is classic.

I want to watch Trick r treat like now but I'm saving myself to watch it on the 28th and see who shoes up to the Q&A on Facebook. God I would love a sequel. I'm so mad I never got to see Trick r Treat in theaters.

I'm saving it on the 30th or the 31st.
