The Horror Thread - Part 2

I've been on a scream kick watched 2-4 and remembered how lackluster 3 was ( I only saw it once opening night in the theater) also watched Hocus Pocus last night and Ghostbusters. I'm going to miss all of this horror watching come Halloween I still have quite a few classics to get through before then.

Then keep on watching! Honestly I pretty much stick with horror year round, of course I deviate (love Star Wars and all other kinds of movies) and I do have more marathons in October, but I don't think I'll ever move horror to the back burner except during October.

I watch horror all year round as well I have always been a big horror fan but to be honest I'm really more a fan of the classics.

Nothing in the last 5 or so years has struck me that hard there have been some good films but nothing I would call good enough to be a classic. I do checkout anything new in horror that causes a stir it's just I'm not a fan of found footage or the torture porn genres so it's kind of limited my selection on new releases.

Yeah I guess that's true.

I really want to see the other version where Stu came back (whether it was his ''twin'' or an actor that looked like him LOL).

Thing is, if I recall, I think Stu was supposed to orchestrating the new killers from prison. I never thought it worked because Sti was the follower but I didn't hate the idea. Better idea than what we got anyway.

I guess I should have specified a little more because I too hate found footage and torture porn, although I do like the first few Saw films. I haven't seen any horror in theaters this year, and mostly agree on not having had much new stuff stick, but there have been a few. I more meant I'm always on Netflix or when I have extra money browsing stores like FYE with large horror sections looking for older or at least less recent films I've never seen. I usually check reviews on several I've never heard of but many of my blind buys have surprised me.

The livestream for Trick R Treat is about to start, Q/A with the cast and director afterwards.

In Halloween H20, they are watching Scream 2.

In the first Scream, they are watching Halloween at the party.

So, imagine that the people in H20 have already watched Scream 1 and have seen the party scene at the end...

I agree. I tend to go on a pure horror kick during October, but i'll watch horror any time of year. I go on a Christmas movie binge during December (some of which is also horror, such as Santa's Slay, the original Black Christmas, as well as the totally crappy remake).

Another genre I watch all year round is Sword & Sorcery. All the Conan movies (both Schwarzenegger and Mamoa), The Hobbit, The Lord Of The Rings (both Peter Jackson's and the animated versions), even The Beastmaster and Red Sonja.

You know, H20 is kind of a conundrum of a movie. Janet Leigh is in it, who starred in Psycho, which features a character named Sam Loomis.

Psycho - Sam Loomis
Halloween - Dr. Sam Loomis
Janet Leigh - Psycho
Janet Leigh - Halloween H20
Janet Leigh is Jamie Lee Curtis' mother.

It hurts my brain.

yeah, Stu's no mastermind. i'd more readily believe his mother as the orchestrator of that. but she wasn't exactly available; probably too busy giving birth to Sheldon Cooper.

Well here goes Halloween 4 on blu-ray, I wanted to wait until the last few days for the Halloween franchise but I'm getting too eager.

Help me identify this movie please:

I think the movie was made in the 90s. I dont remember anything about it except for the final scene and even then Im not sure what I remember of the setting is entirely correct.

It starts off with kids arriving at school(maybe). I think theyre wearing uniforms. We get a shot of a little boy. Creepy looking. He sees a guy crossing a street and he gets a weird look on his face. Next thing you know, a car comes out of nowhere and rams the guy. The boy is satisfied. He made it happen. We then switch over to a little girl with blonde hair(I think it was blonde). She looks over to the guy who was hit by the car and she gets a peaceful look to her face and I think wind was blowing through her hair. The guy who got hit miraculously gets up uninjured. The boy gives a nasty look to the girl and she gives him a smile.

Youre a master if you can name that movie.

Oh man, I ****ing hate you. I was browsing through here and read this, and I know this scene, but I can't remember anything else. Driving me ****ing nuts now. Pretty it's not Village of the Dammed. I can't remember exactly how that ends, but it's different than this.

I want to say it's a movie about a pregnant woman who finds out there's some kind of evil about her baby or some sci-fiy thing, and in this ending it implies she has twins with one being good and the other bad. But that's all I can recall, and I may be wrong. This is going to drive me out of my mind.

Did they just give the possibility of Trick 'R Treat 2?

Edit: Holy **** I think it's happening!

Yes yes they did, they made a logo and such.

Who ever was running the technical side of things, even down to the projector at the event itself kind of dropped the ball tonight.

Side note, have you guys ever seen the Trick R Treat comic?
I got a copy for 2 bucks a few months back.

I wonder what this means for the other film Dougherty has been trying to get made. Every time before tonight, whenever someone would ask him about making a sequel he would say he'd be open to it someday but he was really more focused on a different monster related project.

I remember seeing some kind of horror movie on Nickelodeon back in the 90's. It wasn't Cry Baby Lane; I found that on Youtube and it wasn't what I'm recalling. This movie came on during some segment with that Stick Stickley character. I think there was a monster-a troll, maybe?-and some other monsters too. That's the only recollection I have of it. Do any of your know what I might be thinking of?

Lol. Welcome to my world for the past couple of days. Thankfully for me I finally found the movie. It's called Child of Darkness, Child of Light.

Hmmm...maybe youre thinking of the movie I posted a link to above and are misremembering some plot details?

Ah, okay. Yeah, I am misremembering the details. I remembered that final scene really vividly after reading it, though. This movie has to be the most obscure of the obscure, it doesn't even have a wiki entry.

That's nothing. They watch the original HALLOWEEN in SCREAM and in H20 they watch SCREAM 2.
