The Horror Thread - Part 4

Dignity schindity. I'd jump at the chance to even be an extra in a Freddy movie. :D

Same here. Or a Friday film. Or Halloween.

I would give anything to be an extra in Trick 'r Treat 2.

I love the weigh in. It's hilarious.

I don't mean for Freddy to be goofy but to be more than some killer that comes in your dreams and kills you with his knife-hands. His dark humor is a part of what makes him notable.

It's not like Jason or Micheal where they seem to be forced into doing what they do. Freddy LOVES what he does and takes great glee in just ****ing with his victims. If you had a job you loved and could do it forever wouldn't you have fun? :p

That's what I mean. He takes pleasure in his killing. He's not emotionless or mechanical. He makes jokes and laughs about it. He mocks his victims and he taunts them before going after them instead of just popping out of the trees or behind a doorway or something with a weapon.

Still would have liked if Halloween had gone with the original idea of being an anthology series of movies.

Dammit noooooo!

Edit: ok so we can't link CBM, but basically Halloween 3 as a sequel to the Zombie films is go.

Looks like they've got Scout back...

Weird that nobody picked up on this since she tweeted it like a week ago... either that or nobody really gives a s**t now?! :funny:

She has prematurely Tweeted information about H3 in the past; hence, that is why the major horror sites are sitting on it, until someone from the studio confirms/disconfirms it. She's enthusiastic, but not a fully reliable source.

I don't even know where they could take it from after that disastrous sequel.

Is Michael going to be resurrected and ride into Haddonfield on a white horse?!

If I remember Lussier/Farmer's premise, it had Michael stalking his sister in the mental asylum where she was housed. I am happy they did not commit that to film, as that storyline was already used in a film I am trying to purge from my memory.

Well, I say good luck to whoever has a an actual idea for it.

But in Part 4, 5, and 6 he makes the shift from being darkly humorous to being straight up goofy. Which is why, for me, the series ends at Part 3.

I actually thought the 4th one was pretty good too. I didn't care much for the baby-plot of the 5th, the 6th I actually found a guilty pleasure, but otherwise agreed. Seeing New Nightmare after the 5th and 6th was glorious. Dark Freddy ruled.

Bit of trivia: I met Heather Langenkamp at a con, the previous year. While she signed my photo, I asked her some questions about New Nightmare. She said that when Wes shot Nightmare and New Nightmare, he was uncertain about the endings for both of them, and shot several versions, as a result. I thought it was a fascinating bit, considering I knew about the Nightmare ending history, but not New Nightmare.

It's also the fact they've waited so long. I mean the sequel came out in 2009!

Terrible decision really.

If they dumped it, I would prefer they create a standalone tale...sans Loomis, Laurie, and so on. There is no need to remake Halloween; just make a standalone tale like Nightdance.

right now, i'd watch Zombeavers twice before giving Zombie-Halloween 3 a try.

The only good kill in Part 4 was Kincaid's. Every one after that got sillier and sillier.

Yeah, I just want to see a mysterious Michael going around town killing babysitters.

No sister, no motive, no twist.

Nice and simple, full of thrills and kills.
