Well done Kane, I could never make it watching a movie everyday.

I didn't watch a movie every day, but my watching list for the month was:

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street
2. ANOES 2: Freddy's Revenge
3. ANOES 3: Dream Warriors
4. ANOES 4: The Dream Master
5. ANOES 5: The Dream Child
6. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
7. Wes Craven's New Nightmare
8. Tales of Halloween
9. Halloween (1978)
10. Halloween II
11. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
12. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
13. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers
14. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers
15. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers Producer's Cut
16. Halloween H20
17. Halloween: Resurrection (only the first 15 minutes).
18. Gremlins II

Finishing out the holiday as we speak with 19. Trick 'R Treat.

Special mentions that were not films:
Invader Zim Halloween Special
Hey Arnold Halloween Special
Rugrats Halloween

I feel like I'm forgetting a couple films, but I didn't keep track, just started watching stuff since October started. I'm an all-year horror kind of guy, October is just more incentive to watch something in my free time.

So, how many people are watching Trick 'R Treat tonight?

My yearlys (probably easy to tell what gen I come from lol):
- Halloweentown
- Halloweentown 2
- Mom Has A Date With A Vampire
- Trick 'R Treat

Outside of that usually catching up on horror movies haven't seen yet.

Last year got a lot of movies in:

Trick R Treat - 10/10
Cabin In The Woods 10/10
Tucker & Dale vs Evil 10/10
Monster Squad 10/10
Night of the Creeps 10/10
Halloweentown 10/10
The Wicker Man 10/10
Mr. Boogedy 10/10
Altered States 10/10
Something Wicked This Way Comes 10/10
Cronenberg's The Fly 10/10
Pumpkinhead 9/10
Brainscan - 9/10 (more cult than widely known, but I'd put it up with Child's Play 1 and Nightmare on Elm Street for favorite slasher)
Halloweentown 2 9/10
The Hills Have Eyes 9/10
Tales of Halloween - 8.5/10
Once Bitten 8.5/10
The Blob remake 8.5/10
Creepshow 8/10
Body Bags 8/10
Campfire Tales 8/10 (I love urban legends, and I'd say this is leagues better than 'Urban Legend')
Tales From The Crypt 8/10
My Best Friend Is A Vampire 8/10
Goodnight Mommy 8/10
Sleepy Hollow Burton 8/10
Swamp Thing 8/10
The Watcher In The Woods 8/10
Mom Has A Date With A Vampire 8/10
When Good Ghouls Go Bad 8/10
They Live 8/10
The Witches 7/10
Bride of Boogedy 7/10
Troll 7/10
Ghouies 2 7/10
The Willies 6.5/10
The Halloween Tree 6.5/10 (rated much higher when I was a kid though)
Tales From The Darkside 6/10
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Goldblum 6/10
Prince Of Darkness 6/10
Magic 6/10
The Visit 6/10
Mikey 5/10 (this would have been rated 2/10 if it wasn't unintentionally funny seeing the 'Blank Kid' kid killing people like Kevin McCallister)
Mercy 5/10
Critters 5/10
The Last Witch Hunter 4/10

Anything 6 or below I would not recommend watching. That's basically just one slot above hitting 0 to me. Everything below 5 is basically in the negatives. Nor is everything equal, for example while I love 'Halloweentown' it having the same rating as 'The Wickerman' doesn't mean I think they're equally 10/10, just for the audience they're going after they're a perfect example of how to do that kind of film right.

Just started it less than 10 minutes ago. Gonna watch that and Halloween III to cap off the season tonight (hey, it's still October 31st somewhere when I start Halloween III). In the end my list will look like this:

01. The Thing (1982)
02. Rammbock (Berlin Undead) (2010)
03. Two Thousand Maniacs! (1964)
04. 2001 Maniacs (2005)
05. Carrie (1976)
06. Demons (1986)
07. Night of the Living Dead (1990)
08. Dawn of the Dead (2004)
09. The House of the Devil (2009)
10. Paranormal Activity (2007)
11. Shin Godzilla (2016)
12. The Culling (2015)
13. Zombie Holocaust (1980)
14. Bay of Blood (1971)
15. 30 Days of Night (2007)
16. The Funhouse Massacre (2015)
17. Carnival of Souls (1962)
18. Day of the Dead (1985)
19. Saw (2004)
20. Planet Terror (2007)
21. Cockneys vs Zombie (2012)
22. Bug (2006)
23. See No Evil (2006)
24. Exists (2014)
25. It Follows (2014)
26. The Cabin in the Woods (2012)

28. The Blob (1958)
29. The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
30. Trick 'r Treat
31. Halloween III: Season of the Witch

Outside of a few stinkers, I'm happy with the overall list. And yes, I know Shin Godzilla might be cheating but I don't care.

I know I call Trick 'R Treat is what I call my cap off, but I'll put on Halloween-related stuff until I go to bed. As I always see it, Halloween last for me until the sun rises.

So, how many people are watching Trick 'R Treat tonight?

At least 3 of us, but I'd guess several more as I only checked this page.

I'm at the rock quarry segment in the film right now.

That second quote is from a different post (and member) than your first.

I'm aware, but I didn't want to go back and multi-quote since I was already tying, so I copied the text from below and just put it as a quote. Was this a problem?

...first time seeing Halloween II since opening night in 2009, still terrible.

The Laurie PTSD (sans psychic connection) is alright, and of course Annie was awesome again; but, everything else still sucks.

The flashbacks with the skinnier baby Michael, ******* Loomis, and everything with The White Horse/his mom is atrocious. Plus, it still hurts that the best "kill scene" was a 15 minute dream sequence.

Day 27: Tucker & Dale vs Evil - 9/10 (Rewatch)

I saw that for the first time a few days ago, was looking for a new movie to watch on Netflix and sort of stumbled across it. Really liked it, though I was just a bit disappointed that it was more comedy than horror. The comedy aspect was really hilarious though, I laughed at way too many scenes. One of my favorites was when one of the college guys jumped over Tucker into the wood chipper, that had me rolling! And the girl that ended up with Dale was just all kinds of hot.

So, how many people are watching Trick 'R Treat tonight?

I'm watching it right now to cap off the day as well, nice that it's not too long of a movie either.

This year seems to have seen a mini zombie movie revival with two critically acclaimed zombie movies.

Korean Zombies on a train film Train to Busan and British Zombie film Girl With All The Gifts

Since I was unable to watch one movie per night, I'm still going to be working on it through November. I've been having fun with it. This is what I got so far:

1. The Neon Demon 9/10
2. Beetlejuice 8.5/10
3. Scream 9/10
4. The Vanishing (1988) 8/10
5. The Exorcist 9/10
6. The Ruins 7.5/10
7. Curse of Chucky 8/10
8. The Forest 4/10
9. The Thing (1982) 9/10
10. Final Girls 8/10
11. Jeepers Creepers 8/10
12. The Wailing 9.5/10
13. The Hallows 8/10
14. Child's Play 8/10
15. Ouija: Origin of Evil 8.5/10
16. The Amityville Horror (1979) 7.5/10
17. Sleep Tight 8.5/10
18. Green Room 9/10
19. Scream 2 8.5/10
20. The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) 8/10
21. Trick R' Treat 9/10
22. The Dead Zone (1983) 7/10
23. House (1977) 8/10
24. Julia's Eyes 8/10
25. Maniac (2012) 8.5/10
26. Halloween 9/10
27. Psycho 8.5/10
28. The Exorcist III 8/10

Yeah, it's bad when Hallowen Resurrection or Halloween 5 aren't the absolute worst entry in the series. Zombie's HII is just awful, he should have just made an original horror movie instead of doing what he did. I really think he only took that route so he could have his wife be in the film again.

I watched Within which was ok. I guessed the twist early on.

Halloween Resurrection, and Halloween 5, and heck Halloween 6, are all still worse than H2 for me. And it's not really a contest even.

Each to their own, to this day RZHII is the biggest piece of **** I've ever sat through at the cinema.

Same here I honestly dunno why I didn't walk out during it.

I watched Count Jackula's review of RZ's Halloween II, and I do have to agree, that while I still find pretty much all the characters awful, if this was anything else, especially an original property, this might've been an acceptable movie. The fact is, in our minds, we have grown to know Laurie Strode; Scout Taylor Compton's character is not Laurie Strode. We know Dr. Loomis just as well, and McDowell was not Loomis, especially the Loomis of HII. And worse yet, Laurie and Annie switched roles. In the first, Annie was the party girl, while Laurie was..... well not as much so at least. In the sequel, Laurie covered up her problems while partying and giving as little crap as possible, while Annie was the skeptical, worrying one.

I mean, House of 1000 Corpses was nothing special, and yet Zombie took a group of deplorable characters and made them the stars of the sequel, and I loved that film. The problem as Zombie took his own formulas and applied them to Halloween, instead of trying something not done with the franchise before. Michael didn't need a backstory. Yeah, real people can be scary, but I like the idea of someone, a child, just snapping because of seemingly nothing. It's why Halloween 6, even the P-cut I enjoy, doesn't work: give Michael a reason, especially a supernatural, takes away from him.

I feel like a broken record, I've gone on and on about these films for years now. I also yearn for a film without Sherry Moon Zombie. She's not horrible, I enjoyed her in House and Rejects, I didn't mind her in 31. For the love of god though, half the time he has much better actors than her in his films, but he thrusts her in as much as possible. Hell, I'm actually surprised he didn't cast her as Laurie and try to pass her off as a teenager since Danielle Harris was into her thirties when she played Annie. But he did take half the film to get to the remake portion, so I guess she was on screen as much as he could fit her in without technically being the main character. And jeeze, Halloween II would've been at least slightly more watchable without her. And less stupid when things like Laurie seeing her happened.

I can see how it been an original movie it might have appeared to fans of Zombies films but honestly I can't stand his films. I think that's what bugs me about what he did to a franchise I love. He didn't adjust his own style to make something that actually felt like Hallowern he bent the Halloween franchise to feel like obe if his own films. I think the guy is a terrible film maker who relies heavily on shock and the sane old trashy tropes. If the guy never made a film again I'd be happy. The fact he shoe horns his wife into everything is one if his biggest problems. Proper can hate on H5, H6 and HR but at least they all still had sone semblance of what a Halloween movie should actually feel like, even 5 which was atrocious.

I just realised in a round about way I said what you said but you do like some of his other work where I don't lol

Different strokes as they say. :woot: I agree though, he never should have touched the Halloween franchise.

On another Halloween-related note, anyone ever check out the trailer to Resurrection? Because I laughed so hard watching it. It knows what it's doing, but for nearly half the trailer, it tries to play that it is not a trailer for a Halloween movie. If I'd seen that back then, it'd have been a huge a wtf moment for me. Not to mention they way overplay what amounted to the first fifteen minutes of the film
