Any fans of Creepshow 2 here? I know it's inferior to the original but it's a cult classic and I think the films issues (which come down to budget) are a part of its charm.

I like Creepshow 2  It's almost on par with the first. The first is just a classic, but I think 2 is still very good. The Raft segment is great.

I watch it at least once a year. remember the "thanks for the ride lady" guy? he's in the opening story in 'Tales from the Hood'; riding on the hood of a car. I've always thought that was funny. to be honest, I enjoy the sequel a little more; simply because I've watched Creepshow so many times.

Love that segment' you know Ive never seen Tales From the Hood. I always wrote it off just by the title but recently I saw the trailer and thought it looked pretty good. I might have to pick up the Scream Factory edition.

It's been a while, but I always found it pretty close to the original. The Raft is such a good story, because its simple, but scary. And since I imagine it as some giant amoeba or something similar, it feels unlikely and yet real.

The Raft really struck a cord with horror fans, I was watching Creepshow 2 yesterday (for the first time in a while) and I do always enjoy the Raft the most. It's funny cause the acting is terrible and the thing in the water looks pretty bad overall. It's only in certain shots it looks good, like when it's killing them. The one scene that always made me laugh is the guy suddenly kidding the girls body and breasts. I just think in the situation sex (especially non consensual) would be the furthest thing from your mind lol.

that's understandable. a lot of people wrote it off. but there are, at least, two genuinely entertaining stories in it. it's very much an homage to the original Tales from the Crypt movie (but with a greater budget). my favorite was the 3rd segment; starring Corbin Bernsen and some flesh-eating dolls.

I really want to watch it, I will be importing the Scream Factory edition when it's out.

Watched The Green Room tonight. I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I feel like it got hyped up a little too much for me. It was good, but I guess I was expecting there to be a little more to it. Patrick Stewart was great as always, and of course I couldn't help but we wish we could see more of Anton Yelchin. :(

It was probably a 6.5/10 for me. Would watch it again, and was overall solid, but I think it was oversold to me a bit.

So last year I had a bit of a DVD clear out and sold to Music Magpie. One of the DVDs I sold was Cats Eye but the other day I thought oh man why did I get rid of that? Well I found it on eBay from Music Magpie for like £2 so I thought get in and bought it. It came today and it's the same copy I had, I know because it had a number 3 written inside the sleep from the shop I bought it from :woot:

I actually like Creepshow 2 more than the original. With the exception of "The Crate" I find the stories more entertaining in CS2. "Thanks for the ride lady" never gets old lol.

I watched Don't Breathe last night, which I hadn't had the chance to see previously. Not so much of a "horror" movie, but I did find it to be pretty well done for the little horror thriller that it was. Very cool concept that was well executed.

Dude, I LOVE Cats Eye. It's one of my favorites. The last segment is so over the top but so fun to watch.

Funny enough, this happens to me from time to time. Nothing notable, and no cases of rebuying, but I sold a fair amount of DVDs a few years back. And every once in a while I'll go looking for something I no longer have and feel really bad about it.

Don't Breathe is more of a horror/thriller hybrid imo. Stephan Lang's character is probably the most "horror-esque" part of that film.

Also Fede Alvarez seems to really like working with Jane Levy.

After putting it off, I'm finally watching V/H/S, I really hate the found footage angle it's hard to tell what's going on at times and that leads to confusion. However, I did enjoy the first story 'Amateur Night'. Well when I say enjoyed I mean it was tense as hell and actually freaked me out so it accomplished what it set out to do. For those that have seen it, the vampire girl in this story, what do you think she does with the guy "she likes"?

I enjoy them all too but I still think the first film is quite superior. The Crate might be my single favourite anthology segment from any horror film.

Yeah it's good, I don't know why I got rid of it in the first place. Maybe a moment of madness lol

Yeah I've done it many times lol

I love the first 2 Creepshow films. But I have a question for you...

Have you seen the awful Creepshow 3?

Dont breathe was really ****in good. Its a fun watch

I *loved* Don't Breathe. I saw it twice in theaters and cannot wait to see it again on Blu-Ray. I've been a fan of the director ever since his Evil Dead remake.

Has anyone seen the House on Haunted Hill (1999) remake? Such a weird film. I watched it today along with the direct to DVD sequel: Return to House on Haunted Hill.

Funny, on wikipedia, it says that part 2 has a post credits scene, but it wasn't on my DVD.

The first film had some cool ideas, but failed in execution. The second movie felt like such a waste of time.

House on Haunted Hill (1999): 5/10
Return to House on Haunted Hill: 1/10

I have, and it's alright. It helps that Geoffrey Rush does one of the best Vincent Price impressions that I've ever seen (and also Famke Janssen is in it as well).

I'll be honest, you probably won't get much out of the other V/H/S/ entries then either. The one about the Korean (?) cult is really good, but the rest is pretty mediocre. V/H/S/:Viral is pretty much trash. I think there was one story I liked there too, but then it was such a forgettable experience I can't remember a thing about it.

Speaking of that short "Amateur Night", it's being turned into a full length feature called Siren. It's getting pretty good reviews out of festivals so far.

Yes, he does a good Vincent Price impression. I find it funny that his character is actually named "Stephen Price." The best part of the movie is probably the first 10 minutes or so, but once they're inside the house, the film just really falls apart. Especially the finale... that CGI monster, y'know, "the evil" of the house, is so lame.

I just realized the first Silent Hill movie is 10 years old already. God how'd I'd have killed for the second to be anywhere as good as the first.

I've already heard bad things about the sequels so think I'll avoid them lol

I honestly can't think of a found footage horror film that I love. I either find them ok like this or I hate them. I think outside of been a financial success found footage horror has been a failure in terms of a mass level. In fact the only found footage film I've seen that I really loved was Project Almanac and that wasn't even a horror film lol

I'm not sure there's enough there to make a feature unless they're going to show you more of what the creature is. That can usually spoil it though.

Huh, the Project Almanac director is doing Power Rangers, so maybe I'll enjoy it. :woot:

I thought the original Paranormal Activity film was decent. I can't recall any found footage I absolutely loved though. As for the spin-off film, Siren is not found footage, so take what you will if it'll be better or worse.
