In Memory of a good actor , who some seem to dismiss...I think this is one of his better films.

Not forgetting his awesome performance in Kathryn Bigelow's NEAR DARK.

Near Dark is sitting on my watch list for this week. It's been so long since I've watched it.

The fact that it was also directed by Kathryn Bigelow of all people still amuses me.

I need to get around to seeing that, all I've heard is great things about it.

I watched Frailty for the first time a few months ago, it kinda blew me away.I was not expecting such a strong movie.

It is one that certainly flew under the radar. Great atmosphere, ambiguity & tone. Paxton was great in that role and the child actors did well too

I got Ouija: Origin of Evil in from Netflix...so I finally watched the original Ouija.

The first one is trash.

The second one was obviously better directed. However, I still don't think it was very good...and it probably didn't help that I had just seen a movie that takes place after it, so there was never any doubt about how it would end. Wow...a kid whose mouth stretches wide and eyes go blank after talking to ghosts...I haven't see that in at least 2 days in a Horror film.

I'm not entirely sure that the continuity works out perfectly in these films...but it's a commercial for a board game, so if they dont care then I'm not going to care enough about the franchise to keep track.

The good thing is that I'm not going to complain about looking at Olivia Cooke (the first one) for over an hour...and I am becoming a fan of Annalise Basso (I wanted her to be cast as the young Jean Grey in Apocalypse...I'm not a fan of the actress who got that role).

That make up is astounding.

I love Suspiria, and I'm okay with a remake because it is a bit dated, but I really wish Dakota Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz (who I thought dropped out, but I guess not) where not in it.

It's weird...there's nothing wrong with either of their acting ability...but their mere presence makes me worried about this.

On the surface though...I'm fine with a Suspiria remake. If they do it right (meaning, not like Martyrs...where they kept the lame stuff and removed what was good) then it can be updated a bit and made into a very cool movie that stands on its own.

The train station rampage scene in Train to Busan was epic.

Train to Busan excels more in it's execution more than it's characters or story imo...
Like srsly, all the zombie movie cliches are there. Not getting into spoilers, but there's a pregnant woman who runs around like she isnt anyway.

I just don't see either as ballerinas. Hopefully since Chloe is playing the one that goes missing, her part remains small. But I don't know, it gives me pause.

Train to Busan btw was fantastic. I think it might be my new favorite zombie movie out there.

Train to Busan is the better zombie movie in recent memory... but I sorta liked World War Z too (pretty forgettable tho)

I really enjoyed 2004's Dawn of the Dead remake, but I think I like Train to Busan better.

I wish it had a proper US release. It's easily gonna be one of those cult classics.
