It got really weird in one particular moment, when nearly every female in my immediate vicinity just started bawling their eyes out for a good five minutes. I just sat completely still, thinking, "ok -- so I'm the only heartless bastard not giving a s--t right now..."

:funny:

:hehe:

I didn't really see it before when people were talking about Lawrence as a WW candidate, but there is that one scene where she's all glammed up with the brunette hair and I said, "give her a couple more years and she could probably do Diana."

If it's the scene where the child [BLACKOUT]dies[/BLACKOUT] then, yeah, you are a heartless bastard.

I know... but it's still Twilight. :hehe:

Don't get me wrong, I love ladies. However, tomorrow night, I might as well be homosexual.

Unless I spot a dime.

Hells Naw! More loving for the ladies -- the way I view it. Here's hoping I score myself into a threesome tomorrow.
Just a word of caution, diving into that ocean carefree isn't something I'd advise. If my screening is any indication, a good portion of those waters will be filled with jailbait. And the dark setting certainly doesn't help matters.

Basically the fruits aren't ripe in this part of the season. Ok?

Yeah, that got a lot of gasps and "oh no's" because it wasn't quick.

Ooh, so how many guesses do you think it takes to correctly identify what's in that small black box? :p

In any case, it was a sad scene. I get it. But it wasn't get-the-tissues-out-and-call-auntie worthy. It's just really awkward when there's a circle of tearjerkers around you. I just felt like the odd man out with leering eyes piercing me in the darkness. Especially with the scene so drawn out.

I thought about giving some courtesy *sniffs* to accommodate the mood, but I ended just giggling to myself. :funny:

not gonna lie, I had a similar experience when [BLACKOUT] rue died, I it was sad, and I loved jennifer lawrences acting in that scene. but idk, i guess i just didn't get emotionally invested enough. I kind of figured she'd die, considering she was in the hunger games, and wasn't catniss or peeta[/BLACKOUT]

You definitely will.

It'll be you, the popcorn and a soda. :p

:argh: :funny:

Zing!

You're right. Around these parts, 12, 13 and 14 year olds appear like 20 year olds.

F**k that. King Cobra won't be making an appearance tomorrow night.

same thing in my neck in the woods, there must be something in the water.

General rule, when in doubt don't stare.

When you see the movie you'll know what I'm talking about. That scene is like the equivalent of Bambi's mother dying or E.T. going home.

I never cried or teared after watching those scenes. That isn't to say I won't feel awful. I just don't express emotions well.

For instance, I haven't hugged or embraced an individual in almost a decade.

The most emotional part was when her dad lost it and instigated a riot. To me, that's when the movie went from good to great. These kids don't just kill each other. You can see the impact it has.

Aha! Don't know how I forgot that, but that was easily the most powerful moment in the movie for me. And I did feel a semblance of a tear forming.

I do have a heart!

yeah, up until that point I kept saying to myself "how is a trilogy suppose to stem from this?" then that happened and I was like "well sh**, I gotta get these books."

Speaking as a woman, I can fondly recall the male audience cheering when Peter Parker slugged Mary Jane in Spiderman 3, and one person particular yelling about how "the b**** deserved it". Woohoo domestic abuse!

I can also recall how time and time again, how whenever a female character shows even the slightest bit of skin how the male audience predominantly acts like this:

Seriously guys, if you're that upset that you have to share the movie theater with a bunch of girls for once, please stop pretending that you're the better half of the moviegoing audience.

You're not.

Yeah, in the sequels, Donald Sutherland is gonna try to "contain" the situation. Jennifer Lawrence has inspired too much hope.

Well, MJ did tend to get a little mouthy.

I'm a guy, and generally I just like to sit quietly and watch the movie, unless I'm at home with friends. I think it's rude and obnoxious to pull that sh** in a public forum when other people are trying to watch the same thing, male or female.

Well your first mistake was presuming I advocated similar overreactions. Regardless of sex, I've never support extensive, disruptive behavior that interrupts any portion of the movie experience.

I've been going to movies for well over a decade now, on a consistent basis. This was my first time with a decidedly female crowd. And it was the first time crowd reactions got overbearing. That took me by surprise. Sorry if you don't agree with me calling it like it is.

I'm very used to excited fans. I'm almost always reserved so it's not like I'm with any of them when they react so expressively at the screen. But I can't say fangirls gave a good first impression regardless of that. It says a lot when I'm taken aback by how plain rude some of the people were in my screening.

To the credit of most people in my theater, the yappers I'm referring to were most definitely under 18. But I've sat through Pixar and Disney movies before, so that's not giving them an excuse.
