people say cheap but i like that the Forrest does'nt look so cinematic and stylistic it gives off the claustrophobic gritty feel i guess

it should feel gritty and claustrophobic. they're in an arena with death traps around every corner, not to mention 20+ people hidden around trying to kill each other

and i was talking that ti doesnt look cinematic.

I can understand what a few are saying about the Twilight comparisons. The marketing for this is similar to how the Twilight movies are
marketed with the cover on magazine like EW and showing something on an award in MTV so when someone who doesn't know much about the series watches the teaser and sees the pics the impression can come off feeling like it's a Twilight clone and I can see them trying (I'm hoping not though) with the trailer to cater to the Twilight audience focusing on the love triangle aspect even when it isn't the focus.

Not that it matters to me since it is a YA series, but a good one, that it has depth in the story and the themes you find in it's not something you usually find in books that are target to the YA audience. The way it's marketed is where it'll find most of its audience and there's nothing wrong with that. Sure it can turn some people off but the final product will speak for itself.

it reminded me of when

the capitol makes the districts watch the hunger games. i'm half expecting a scene from these games to play on it. or it'd be cool to see it as the girl who became an avox and the boy who tried to escape (the ones katniss saw in the woods and didn't help) getting captured by the Capitol.

For someone who is unfamiliar with the work I wasn't very excited but I'll wait to see more. I'm glad the clip didn't show something pertaining to romance or the love triangle I heard about. I thought for sure they would do that since they're trying to rope in the Twilight crowd, playing on MTV and everything.

That'd be great. It wouldn't hurt to see more footage. Right now to me it looks like a shape of a rose, I don't know why, first thing to pop up in my mind. If so it'd be a white rose since it's the ones President Snow usually wears but I wouldn't know a reason why they want to show a picture of a rose so I think it's more likely show how the arena looks like.

I think Comic Chick is right.
It looks like it's forming a Capitol logo

i would love to see some old caesar flickerman viral videos, but those would be better for a viral for the second film

Jennifer Lawrence is a great actress. It doesn't mean she's above doing a franchise film to make herself a movie star. Al I've seen of this movie is a slew of EW covers highlighting it's about a hot 20-someing dressing down to be a "plain" teenager in a love triangle with two very hunky guys pretending to be teenagers. Then the trailer features her running around in the woods with v.o.

Maybe the books are better, but EW is pushing it as the new Twilight and the teaser offers nothing for non-readers to see anything more.

Of course they're marketing it to the same audience. Twilight is ending soon, and they need another franchise to sell magazine covers to teenage girls to when it does.

But again, the actual story is NOTHING LIKE TWILIGHT.

I resisted the Hunger Games books at first because it seemed to marketed as the new Twilight. I hated the Twilight books. But eventually I gave in and read them...and they were great. Absolutely nothing like Twilight. At all.

To write tins whole thing off as being the same thing as Twilight just based on that is just

^I don't think he wrote the whole thing off but how its being marketed certainly feels like the next Twilight, which is what they were going for so I guess mission accomplished.

I wonder what they will name the sequels... if it's like Twilight then it's
The Hunger Games Saga: Catching Fire

That preview was ****ing awesome for some one who has read the books.

I read the book after the cast was announced, so in my head I could imagine the actors running around :D

Yeah, it isn't done just yet but the Capitol logo looks nice, wonder if we'll get something else when it's 100% done.

I liked that teaser. I thought it was a good tease for those who know the franchise and those who dont know it.

Even though I was meh on the casting I hope this turns out good

That teaser trailer sort of gave me a documentary feel about the movie, but I definitely didn't get any Twilight vibe from it at all. Btw, Jennifer Lawrence is a much better actress than Kristen Stewart.
