Wow they didn't release footage to please the Twilight audience like I thought they would. My fears of the teams the focus of the movie are almost completely gone.

It makes sense. From what I've heard about Hunger Games, it isn't 99.5% about Katniss talking about being love, while not really showing any emotion whatsoever.

It's not. The triangle in the book is far in the background but there were rumors that was changed in the movie. I'm starting to think the rumors are false.

I don't think the triangle came into the 1st book it was mostly in the 3rd.

Don't think any love angle you fear will be omitted from the movie just because it wasn't in the teaser. You can bet your ass they'll play the love angle in the full trailer and possibly even more so in the movie itself.

Anyway, I loved the first book. Gonna read the second soon. I'm not disappointed by this teaser at all, just because I'll love any bit of promo from this film. Can't wait.

As someone whose never read the books, it did absolutely nothing for me and looks like another generic Hollywood Twilight clone. That would be normal if not for Gary Ross's involvement. I expect more from the man who made Pleasantville and Seabiscuit. I hope the final film is better.

ok i expect an interesting story and good acting from her.but the forest look boring and cheap. would it be so hard to use some cinematic lighting and not just the sky light?Spielberg and Jackson always made the forest look good.

Dude, this book is NOTHING like Twilight for the 100th time. I'm sick of people using Twilight and Hunger Games in the same sentence. How can you even compare that 30 second trailer to anything Twilight related? Just because you saw a girl running in a forest? Get real man and at least wait for a full trailer before you say something so idiotic.

I agree... when I (finally) saw the trailer, it looks so amateurish I actually thought I was watching a fan-made trailer

people say cheap but i like that the Forrest does'nt look so cinematic and stylistic it gives off the claustrophobic gritty feel i guess

I haven't seen the clip yet, but the story is nothing like Twilight, so don't go assuming it.

I despise Twilight, and I loved these books.

I guess I shouldn't expect to see a lot of footage from the teaser but nonetheless it feels like no effort went into it. It's at least good to see Katniss in action though, Lawrence is going to do wonders in the role.

the problem is not that they dont show a lot. the problem is that this teaser was made fo fans. this teaser shows what? a forest and a girl with a bow? i am not saying that they need to explain the arena or what happens when they fight. i dont even expect them to have DIALOGE.but i expect from a teaser some context. context in the teaser. i expect some build up.

Jennifer Lawrence is a great actress. It doesn't mean she's above doing a franchise film to make herself a movie star. Al I've seen of this movie is a slew of EW covers highlighting it's about a hot 20-someing dressing down to be a "plain" teenager in a love triangle with two very hunky guys pretending to be teenagers. Then the trailer features her running around in the woods with v.o.

Maybe the books are better, but EW is pushing it as the new Twilight and the teaser offers nothing for non-readers to see anything more.

Non-readers who just see the teaser would not be able to make a Twilight comparison. The teaser is very different than one that would appeal to a Twilight audience which I thought we would be given. Which makes me thunk that EW is just making the comparisions while the actual film will promote to everyone else.

Oh and this site http://thecapitol.pn/ is apparently going to reveal something ala Bane in DKR.

I haven't read the books but just saw the teaser and I kind of get the Twilight comparisons. A hot young girl running around the forrest with a guy's voice over in the background and DA is right about EW. They're really trying hard to push this movie for the Twilight crowd.
