I'm avoiding wikipedia because if I ever decide to go get the second and third book, I won't be spoiled beforehand. But tell me this, does any of the dead characters return? And does Gale have a bigger role?

The way the Hunger games concluded was satisfying for me... I think what happens after that was just something that made you wanna pick up the second book...

i didnt necessarily like the ending but like ipodman said, it made me want to start the second one that much quicker.

I've got my mom and sister reading them now too.

I thought the first book ended very abruptly, but I was intrigued by [blackout]Haymitch's warning about how much trouble she was in[/blackout] that I didn't hesitate to right to the second book.

I'm not so excited about reading past the first book... because I'm assuming they are going to do another Hunger Games, and then it will be like oh, we have to do the whole thing again?

Yes there is another Hunger Games but it's a lot deadlier and Katniss has to go in again. Which she isnt supposed to do. However it's only really the last 1/3 of the book that deals with it

It actually is a pretty good book I just started it a few days ago and am on the last 3 chapters now. Will Probably read the rest of the series.

Lionsgate will debut the first footage from The Hunger Games during the "2011 MTV Video Music Awards," which will air live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 28 at 9PM (Live ET/Tape delayed PT.) Star Jennifer Lawrence will introduce the footage, which will then be posted online at MTV.com.

The Hunger Games chronicles a dystopic Capitol which requires its twelve subjugated districts to pay tribute in the form of a teenage boy and girl, forced to participate in the annual "Hunger Games," a fight-to-the-death live televised event. Katniss Everdeen’s little sister is chosen in the lottery to participate and Katniss volunteers to take her place. Although persevering through hardship is commonplace for Katniss, she must start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love in order to win the games and return home.

Directed by Gary Ross, the adaptation hits theaters on March 23, 2012.
