i agree with this.anyone else love that jen is not made up in this trailer well until they force her to be made up lol
her hair is a mess and has zero make up on helps with the whole dystopian atmosphere always hate when a girl is in a Apocalypse type movies and she still has make up and perfectly styled hair
Really didnt find this trailer to represent the movie that well. I mean they didnt show the games at all. It felt like another teaser.
yeah that annoying kid...
he wont be
Josh Hutcherson isn't that bad at all.
His voice performance as Markl was great in Howl's Moving Castle.
In fact both him and JL were the best parts of this trailer. Hemsworth Jr is as dry as a plank of wood but everything featuring Hutcherson in this trailer just felt natural.
will there be action?
because this was 100% build up and no money shots.i dont remember the last time a studio was that dumb.
i think i will watch the movie only for the concept(kids fighting) and Jennifer. visuals look boring and i dont know if there is any action
the 60 second summer teaser had more action. do you understand what i wrotte here? a 60 second summer teaser had more action then a 2 minute full trailer .
I hope they change parts of the ending.
I didn't like the whole werewolf/zombie/participant type creatures towards the end, I was hoping for just a final confrontation between Katniss and Cato. The author went too complicated with it and it ended up just taking me out of the experience. Obviously you gotta keep the faking the deaths and what not, that was all great. I just want a different final confrontation.

sorry not sure which trailer you watched but hemsworth looked great tons of personality and emotion showed in this trailer and a good american accent to bootJosh Hutcherson isn't that bad at all.

Eh, I liked JL and Hutcherson better. Lil Hemsworth still seems bland to me.
I should add that one thing I'm desperately looking forward to about a movie adaptation is that you are not relying solely on the one protagonists perspective on things. Take the cut in shots at the end of the trailer. We will get to see audience reactions to what is going on... in the spirit of the Truman Show but without that sort of bubbly charm. I thought that shot of Gale in the field was especially powerful at the end. How do people deal with something like this-- a televised battle to the death? That's what I want to see.
I always thought that Hutcherson was a solid kid actor.
I thought Liam Hemsworth was quite charismatic in this trailer, and had good chemistry with Lawrence in that couple of scenes they were in. I'd have to watch Hutcherson more before judging him, but he just seems dull when compared to Hemsworth.

hemswroth came across better than hutcherson imo and he naturally felt like jen's close friend even in a 2 minute trailer
He was fantastic in Bridge to Terebithia as well, he really made me feel for his character.

Can't say I share the same feelings. Personality and charisma aren't words I'd associate with Hemsworth Jr. His brother on the other hand is leagues better but like you guys that's just my humble opinion.
The whole televised thing reminds me of The Running Man.
Liam is quite similar to his brother Chris in terms of looks and charisma, albeit younger, so I don't see why you think these two brothers are so different. But hey, at least there's no consensus on who's better so we'll just have to wait and see when the movie comes out.
I think there are a lot of comparisons that can be drawn. It's hard to come up with an idea independently these days that hasn't been done in some way or another. Stephen King's review of the Hunger Games described its similarities to Battle Royale and The Long Walk, but also said that it holds its own.
From what I understand (take this with a grain of salt, I haven't read or seen Battle Royale), the Hunger Games is a bit more story driven than violence driven than Battle Royale. There's a lot more social/political commentary. There's also the emotional lines. The AV Club commenters had a lot of interesting things to say about it and many of them had seen all of the aforementioned films and read the books.
