I see everyone is confused if it's prequel or sequel, when to me it's pretty clear its both.

I don't have the hate-on for this film that some have and I like seeing drama lama actors and actresses having some fun with genre films, but the trailer was underwhelming, lacking in snow covered spectacle and cool action.

Chastain, Blunt, and Theron are in the same freaking movie together. All three look like they're having fun. Although the former two likely did it to work with Charlize, which makes sense from that standpoint.

Sometimes, actors don't want to be pigeonholed as doing only Oscar bait or indie fare, a big studio picture is a nice change of pace once in a while.

1:01, well, it looks like they're getting some use out of Thor's swimming pool from Age of Ultron.

Trailer was pretty bad, I thought, though that mostly came down to how it was constructed. The film itself looks...well, I'm not surprised it's from the producer of Maleficent, it looks like something I'll feel the same way about as I did that film. Meh.

Yea, waste of their acting abilities and shared presence on the screen. It just feels like a sequel nobody asked for...

At least the effects aren't utter ****. The movie itself looks kinda lame though. None of the big moments in the trailer were exciting enough. I'll see it for the leading ladies though. Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron hamming it up as evil queens should be fun. Just hope Chastain has a decent role.

I was watching a bio show in Sir Anthony Hopkins the other day and he talks about why he agreed to be in The Mask of Zorro. And essentially the reasons was that he had been in several darker, more dramatic films previously and decided that, for a change of pace, that he wanted to be in a fun romp. As he put it "two hours of popcorn."

I wonder if it might not be similar for Emily Blunt? She just got done with Sicario, which is this really dark/bleak crime thriller, and Crimson Peak, where she plays a really dark character. Maybe she just wanted to have some fun in her next role or something?
