I wonder what the Prince's role is in all this. I can't recall seeing him in any footage so far, and it's clear that the Huntsman is going to be the lead male role.

Personally, I don't really see the need for Prince in this movie. Couldn't they just combine the Huntsman with the Prince's character? His biggest contribution in the Grimm's tale was to kiss Snow White awake from her cursed sleep anyway, which can be swapped with someone like Huntsman easily.

prince was in the 2nd tv spot i posted above and he is also in the teaser trailer for a split second if you watch 1st trailer he is the dude who jumps out of the tree and attacks some guards

Yeah, but he isn't really introduced and never gets to say any lines. It's going to be odd if there's a romance between two characters who have hardly spoken in the trailers.

For a while, that's what I thought was going to happen, then I remembered that Claflin was in the movie. It's odd that he's the heroine's love interest (I assume) but has barely shown up in the advertising at all.

I assume that is the reason why they decided to cast the young, hunky Chris Hemsworth to play the Huntsman instead of a middle-aged man (which I heard was the original plan). And the movie is called Snow White and the Huntsman, and not "and the Prince". I guess we'll have to see how the movie play this one out.

he is a big part of the plot and snow white's character development

he is sent to hunt her down but helps her instead and even trains her

Yeah, they originally offered Viggo Mortensen the role, and the Huntsman was supposed to be more of a father-figure, from what I understand. Guess they changed that, lol.

Yeah, they had a last minute rewrite. As I recalled, Universal got a badass writer; the dude who wrote the 'Drive' screenplay!

I think it might be something like the Prince has known Snow White since they were young and they've connected. He takes it upon himself to go out and save Snow White after she escapes because she's the one he loves. Over the course of the movie, Snow White bonds with the Huntsman and they eventually fall in love.

I don't think so, the Prince was briefly shown fighting alongside the Huntsman against the glass creature in the trailer.

This is what I hope for. Don't get me wrong, I'd fall for Hemsworth in a heartbeat But I'd like it if they kept it at least similar to what they originally intended... though since he's played by a younger actor, have it develop into an older brother/younger sister type relationship (instead of father figure/daughter).
